Top Shots
(Edited)
Here are some “top shots”, but actually, they are just photos from the top of Yates Mountain. As you can see, I was not actually at the very ”top“, but close enough you might say. One of the reasons I come to the Canadian Rockies so often is to take photos. In all honesty, it’s about 60% about the photography and about 40% for the hiking part. Although that can be flipped sometimes, especially when weather is particularly not nice. On those occasions I literally put away the camera and just hike for the fresh air and exercise enjoyment. When the weather is optimum, a heavenly experience it really is. The best of both worlds you might say. Photos taken from the Prairie View lookout hiking trail, Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada.
Camera: Sony A7R III
Lens: Sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS

Damn, those are some lovely shots. Has y'alls weather been unseasonably warm this year?
Actually yes, snow storm, warm stretch, repeat. Same down south I think? Thanks.
More flurry than storm here but yep. Last Saturday was flurries in the morning, 70F by Monday, then some severe thunderstorms and cold again, but back up to 72F tomorrow.
Extreme weather can make for some great photos ops, but you gotta work harder..
Here it's more luck than hard work, but yeah.
Beautiful place and real natural beauty of nature. Nice photography

Why are the Skies so beautifully blue. Then look at that stretch of blue waters, I think it's the aerial view. It's wonderful.
Taking pictures when the weather is maximum and hiking when the weather is not too good, is having the best of both worlds.
