Simpson Viewpoint

IMG_20240918_150951_Original.jpeg

About halfway between Grizzly lake and Laryx Lake is this incredible lookout named: Simpson Viewpoint. The first time we hiked up here, the viewpoint was quite unexpected. The drop into the canyon is at least several hundred feet or so. Wow! Very windy as well. They say on a clear day you can see as far as the “continental divide”. What is the continental divide you ask? It is a natural boundary that separates the “drainage basins” of North America. Google it for more detailed info about it (or better yet use the Brave AI tool). Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely photography of nature at its best. The first pic no no doubt is so majetic, with huge mountains and the contrasting colours of the trees, the road and the sky.

I do agree that from up there you can see far beyond the countryside views. Absolutely breathtaking if you ask me.

What gorgeous pictures! That is quite a view. Those paths all look so well groomed, it makes for a nice pleasant hike. love all your pictures on this one, just a pretty place!

Did you know the continental divide isn't always in the mountains? Along I-10 in New Mexico you can see for yourself!
