Silver Spring Lakes

On our second day of hiking in British Columbia, last August, the destination was Silver Spring Lakes. Located about 1 hour east of Cranbrook. First of all, the weather was absolutely fantastic! Couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was gorgeous. Silver Springs actually consists of 3 tiny lakes. The first lake is shown here. There are two smaller lakes just on the other side. The hike itself took us to all three lakes, and around 3 hours or so to complete, including a stop for lunch. Generally an easy hike, with probably less than 100 metres of elevation gain to deal with. The turquoise colour of this lake was incredible! Thanks for stopping by.

The rock formations on the foreground look different from what is happening across the lake which looks like a slow natural erosion (?).

!INDEED the view of the pristine lake is amazing 🤩

Yes, there is something unusual about the formations around here. Not sure what to make of it, maybe I'll have to dig into it. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks! This hike was super interesting, yet on the easy side. Not too too far away from where you are at the moment.

I have to come to British Columbia just for the sake of visiting this Silver Spring Lakes. The shots you took are lovely. We all should spend time with nature sometimes. Thanks for sharing ❤️

So you'd prefer hike with lower elevation? This are beautiful shots..

Good question. If the elevation gain is spread out gradually, then 400, 500, or 600 metres is ok, as long as the views are worth it. Has to be a reward for that effort. If I can get a great reward, with less effort, that is pretty good. Sometimes I go for the challenge too, depends on my mood I guess.

Hi, @daveks Beautiful landscapes, beautiful photographs, I would like to close my eyes and see myself walking with my son and my husband in those landscapes that you present.

Holy smokes Batman, fire shots here. That first one is epic, as is the destination. Its been a few months on my last hike but man if I lived up there, it would be so hard not to hike all around these amazing places and adventures you got. Job well done.

The first picture is so beautiful. This is what we call paradise. Soooo lovely. And the blue mountains another striking wonder. I think you can very well create such a beautiful album - nature at its best. 👍

What a beautiful lake. You can see how quickly it gets deep with that clear water. That's a great place for an easy hike, but my favorite picture has to be the last one, monochrome of the trail through the trees. Amazing picture you got there!
