Scratch that Itch

Ever wonder how a Canadian Goose may scratch their itch? This it what it may look like. It does in fact look like a difficult maneuver. Lol. A few more goose photos from my Canadian Goose camera roll to show you today. Ever seen these fellas flying overhead? In that distinct V shape right. Apparently there is a scientific reason for it. To help reduce wind resistance, the bird behind flies slightly above the bird in front. So the first bird in the V is the lowest, and the ones at the back are the highest. This also assists in overall coordination of the entire “team” of geese. Interesting isn’t it?

This close up view of geese makes it more beautiful. I have seen birds flying in V shape, but never knew the scientific reason behind it. Brilliant ! Thanks for sharing, so that I can share this to someone this V secret of birds flying in air.

You'd never know things like this till you research. Look at me thinking they probably go up in the air like, "Let's amaze this ground-creatures yet another time, shall we?"😄

A great moment captured! My humble guess is, that it can scratch even his pope, using long neck and beak xD

It's a beautiful shot. Looks like you're taking your Sony camera more than the Leica lens these days.

I the geese just has a naturally long neck with thick muscles that allow them use it to even scratch their backs

Can’t zoom in as good with that Leica, that is where the zoom lens comes in handy. Thanks.

Wow bro, those geese are so cool. I never knew they flew in a V-shape to reduce wind resistance. The one in the first picture is getting a really good scratch😂😂 !LOLZ
