Rock On

These massive rocks are part of what is called the “Okotoks Erratic”. Large boulders basically lying on the prairie flatland, near Calgary. Very much out of place. They say that they are remnants of a receding glacier. Either that or aliens dropped them here in the middle of nowhere (Probably the first). This type of object really shines in black and white, I think I prefer the B&W’s, how about you?

Very strange info about the rocks. The third pic looks like a place for seating. A view from atop can make a difference .

I almost climbed on top, maybe I should have. A drone view from the top would have been cool to see. Thanks.

Oh! so bold, this was captured from atop. I thought it was a capture by drone. Mountain hike....

No, it was just a walk around the rocks actually, next time I will climb it.

Or perhaps the "Giants" that once roamed the world? Somehow, I find it entertaining to listen to the History Channel's theories about how these ancient natural features were formed.

One thing is for sure... these rock formations look awesome 🤩

That would have been my third guess. We may never know. I always wonder when the "science" is so certain about an event that took place thousands of year ago. I'm a sceptic I guess.

Exactly! 😅 Sometimes scientific logic is not so easy to grasp. That's why I can't blame people for making theories that, although they may not have proof, still present a probable cause.

Indeed, that is where theories begin to take shape!

Great photography results. This photography we can see two colors and both colors also have extraordinary beauty. The black and white image display is also quite an interesting and quite good image display and it is an extraordinary art.

I think it's more of a rock formation and the molten eaten stuff and all that geological stuff that happened millions of years and less of a alien invasion. Beautiful shots wow

If I was betting, my money would go on the receding glacier theory. Thanks for stopping by.

In the former DDR only black and white photorolls were available for people.
A famous song about "forgetting the color photorolls - critisizing the DDR's lack of Western products - was sung by Nina Hagen. Merkel asked to play it at her goodbye.

Thanks interesting. Black & white almost does remind one of communism in some sense.

I buy the glacier idea, not the aliens. lol I personally have seen UFO's and have no idea what they are buy I never saw any aliens! Those are really cool rock formations in the fields. I notice the path turned to go around the rocks there, I guess they don't want you climbing over them

Nice pictures though, it's a beautiful are!

It seems they don't want people climbing on top of them, probably for safely reasons. Thanks as always.

Ok no!... It seems to me that it could have been the aliens who left them there!... hehehehe :))... Excellent pictures!... This is part of that huge amount of places in the world with ‘huge rocks’ which nobody is sure why they are there’... And I didn't know this one for sure!... Thanks for sharing this!...
