Precarious

Follow the trail they say! But if you are not sure, it can be a little precarious. Especially if you are alone. The turn off for Rae glacier was supposed to be somewhere over there, but it was not clearly marked, so it makes one feel a bit uneasy. One starts thinking about them there wild animals, the big furry kind, with the sharp claws..but wait, I have bear spray. No worries. Was this the end of the road, will I need to circle back? Maybe I’ll ask these other hikers which way to go, or just follow them! Now there’s an idea.

Yeah. I’m a little afraid of grizzlies out that way.
Especially after watching Cocaine Bear. Very gruesome.

Sounds scary, is that a horror flick or something?

Yeah… it’s based on a true story about a Black bear in Georgia that stumbles upon a duffel bag of Cocaine (dumped from a plane) in the mountains…. consumes 100 pounds of the white stuff and goes on a rampage.

That’s crazy. Maybe I’ll have to check it out.

Love these photos, it's amazing how much of a hike one can remember. That same green pond and the embankment of the little mountain stream. The Hike up to Rae Glacier is incredible. It's difficult to get lost too, just follow that stream :)

Maybe I overreacted a bit, initially I thought I needed to cross that stream, and I tried but didn’t want to get my shoes wet. Ended up being a good thing, because you weren’t supposed to cross anyhow!

Our first year hiking, I was constantly looking at GPS when given possible trail options, after a while, one gets used to the lay of the land and how trails generally work.

Awesome shot's my friend and sometimes don't take that trail, take the other or you get lost. It's happened to me once in the snow but I managed to get back in the dark, it was pretty concerning though. Have a blessed one

Always good to have certainty on the trail if at all possible. Sure beats getting lost. Thanks for the visit.

I knew it, I grew up in those mountains. Don't know that particular peak but it looked so familiar I figured it must be the rockies :)

I'm sure you won't miss your way... Instincts... Oh it's a good thing you have the spray 😀
The Mountain is gigantic and I love its colour of snow.
