Mountain Mist

(Edited)

Coming back from my “failed” attempt at hiking to Eiffel Lake, I was blessed with some cool Mountain mist to photograph. You see, the closer I got to Eiffel, the more it rained, then the rain turned to light snow, mix in a bit of wind and that was pretty much the end of my hike. Going to the lake was kind of a bust. I managed to get in a few smartphone pics, but I didn’t want to bring out the DSLR, in fear of getting it moisture damaged. It was just too miserable. Oh well, what can you do? So I just headed back, then the weather started to clear up, leaving this beautiful fog or mist around the area. All in all, the entire experience was still very much worthwhile. Looking forward to round two!

Here we have a place called Ooty. Full of landscape and almost misty. When two of them stand close you cannot see the othe, due to mist. Nice pics especially the last with beautiful color contrast.

Awesome shot's my friend, yeah its hard to bust out the camera in wet conditions, I have done it a lot and so far so good, not sure if its worth the risk but I just do it. Haha.

Maybe I’m being too careful. Having to wipe off a wet lens doesn’t seem too fun. Thanks.

That black and white sure makes the mist look really cool! Too bad mother nature didn't cooperate that day, but it's still nice to get out and enjoy the outdoors! I still can't get over the color of that lake, amazing!

I prefer good mother, but weather can be a crapshoot sometimes for sure. Thanks.

Even though the hike didn't go as planned, I'm glad you found beauty in the misty mountains. Your pictures captured the atmosphere so well that the first one almost looked like a painting.

The first image immediately brought back memories of when we visited Alishan Mountains in Taiwan. I think the misty moody nature of it. Your back yard is awesome mate.
