This is Mount Baldy, as seen from the Barrier Lake hiking trail head, Kananaskis country, Alberta. A fine looking mountain, visible from highway 40, which runs north-south through Kananaskis. Further south down the highway and you will find Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lake.

I honestly have no idea, but usually they are named after the person or peoples that discover it.
