Let’s Go into the Woods

It can be somewhat daunting entering the woods, at least when you are hiking solo. Usually I am with a small group or a family member or two, but on this occasion I was alone. It is comforting to know that I have a big can of bear spray in pocket, and can access it at a moments notice, if necessary. In most cases it is recommended to hike in small groups, like 2-4 people or so. That being said, try and get a small group of people together, that all share the same schedule! Obviously not always possible, therefore solo it is at times. Gotta make the most of our opportunities.

The forest is full of amazing things and you never know what you will encounter in the journey. I do Afraid to go alone in the forest it is dangerous here there are wild animals and people do risk their life walking in forest alone here. I hope the forest there are safe enough to walk alone 😅

Have yet to have any close encounters with wildlife, thankfully. Having that bear spray in pocket makes me definitely feel safer, and of course the spray can be used to fend off pretty much any animal. Thanks for dropping by.

Hmmm, a dark jungle does sound a bit over my pay grade. I'll stick to the Canadian forests!

Though the place looks so live with those greenery, sure you had to be alert as it looks dense. Going in groups will definitely have its own advantages and the bear spray is also better for your safety
In our place wild animals are roaming in streets; with police force behind them. Probably they tio need some fun. 🙂

Yes, what happens when a cow or other animal gets ornery, how do you deal with it? Is there a special unit that takes care of that kind of stuff?

Sorry I don't know much about this. But because cows are domestic animals they are usually dealt with veterinary Doctors. But if its a wild animal which is ornery, a special police force and forest officials are deployed for this.

I most definitely will be scared hiking in the forest alone if I was in Africa , Australia or other countries where there are snakes. I have a big phobia for snakes.
New Zealand not having snakes makes at ease in the forest hiking alone.

Snakes are not too much of a concern for me when out and about. It's only the bears and perhaps cougars, although I have never seen a cougar, hopefully I never come across one.

Yes, but usually there will be others on the trail, so make me feel safer.

That first one is really nice, a trail leading into the woods with the fall leaves. Then you found some mushrooms along the way. Great pictures!

If there is a chance of meeting bears, I would take a 180 degrees turn, no doubt about it :P

Can a bear spray drive away a bear? Do you have any experience using bear spray?

No guarantee the bear spray will actually work, but it should, the pepper is very very strong and should drive away animals, as long as you have time to pull it out and use it.

It's also nice to see the mushrooms attached to the wood and the atmosphere in the forest seems really fun and I like playing around in places like that.
