Journey Back

You’ve heard it before, but I’ll say it again. All good things usually come to and end. Including this hike to Hourglass Lake. Luckily I was able to capture a ton of photos on the way up, and also on the Journey Back. As you can see, a fire ripped through this area some years back. As devastating as that can be, it is a natural part of the ecosystem. It does look beautiful in it’s own way, in my opinion. The Journey back is always when the trekking poles get their turn in the spotlight. My knees are thankful. We had a brief moment of light snow at one point, but then just as quickly as that brief moment came, the sun came out and it literally felt like a new day!
