Hike to Cobb Lake

IMG_20240917_163950_Original.jpeg

That afternoon, the destination was Cobb Lake. Located inside Kootenay National Park, British Columbia, Canada. The trailhead is about 20 minutes north of Radium hot springs. This hike took us close to four hours to complete, with a relatively easy elevation gain/loss of 248 metres. The reflections were probably the highlight of the entire hike! All in all the lake itself was not that impressive, and I was expecting it to be larger actually. That being said, I would recommend it if you were in the area, although it would not be my first choice. Thanks for stopping by.

What part of the great white north are you from?

Such a great lake but a poorly maintained trail for a national park, at least when we went

I would have to agree with you on that. It seems like some trails are maintained so well, and others, not so much.

The appearance of the lake is extraordinarily beautiful, the water is so clear that the reflections of the trees and sky appear perfectly.

I'm pleased with how the images turned out. Thanks for looking.

I can't get over how that log, in two pictures, is so BLUE ... is it a white-barked tree picking up on the prevailing colors?

In black and white, those high clouds are amazing ... like a smoke or steam coming up from the depths...

It's just that the camera is struggling to get a colour accurate image. I also took some photos with my dslr camera, and the colours should be more natural and accurate, Hopefully! Thanks for your comment.

Well, I like the blue log, actually ... I've seen some strange reflections with my naked eye in certain circumstances, and I would not have figured that wasn't a thing if you hadn't mentioned it -- but, waiting patiently on the DSLR photos too!

The lake is still as beautiful, it's just that it didn't have all that clear water and turquoise color and the beautiful pebbles as well.

Reflections were cool, but the turquoise colours of Olive lake and reflections were definitely more spectacular than this place. Thanks for stopping by.

Those are some killer reflections in the first two! Gorgeous! Then the old fallen tree it's almost like looking at a cannon, amazing what art nature creates. Then that trail in black and white, it's time travel, I guess for me things in monochrome just seem older, maybe because as a kid I used to watch reruns of shows in black and white like Bewitched and The Addams Family. Great job!

I just love black and white. It immediately flips the mood of the photo right? Love them oldies too! Thanks for stopping by.
