Highway Photography

On the first day we did Olive Lake, a hike to Cobb Lake, along with a couple things in the morning. The second day was quite a bit different. The plan was to drive an hour and a half away to Sunshine meadows, which is located inside Banff Park. The drive would be absolutely worth it, and the roadside scenery is really quite stunning actually. Here are some samples of Rocky Mountain scenery between Radium and Sunshine meadows. Sometimes the journey is half the fun. Have you ever visited any of these two areas?

They are so striking, almost to forbidding, in black and white ... I think of rugged stories of climbers triumphing and not always triumphing in stark climbing documentaries because of the black and white ones, while in color, and so green, their sheerness is there, but greatly softened.

Yes, the black and whites do add a ruggedness as you say. Interesting how that works. Thanks for dropping by.

I wish I could drive on roads with views of the mountains like that.
I live in the eastern Europe, so my views are usually pretty flat 🤣

I think one thing about travelling to a place of hike or sightseeing is actually the roadside scenery. It's just beautiful to see.

Exactly, the journey, the journey, is half the fun, or more sometimes. Thanks.

The trip can be very enjoyable in a place like that! What beautiful scenery! I've never explored the Canadian side but the US side I have extensively. That last picture came out nice in color and monochrome, nice job.

The Highway and the mountains make a stunning art, it seems to be a sunny day but I think in winter the beauty will be different here.
