High Elevation Hiking

IMG_20240918_141957_Original.jpeg

Getting closer to Rock Isle Lake, located here at Sunshine Meadows, Banff Park, Alberta. A beautiful tiny lake nestled at the very top of the mountains! The elevation up here is 2,385 metres or 7,825 feet! Wow that is high right? Of course the higher the elevation, the tougher the going. Luckily, the trails around here are mostly flat and didn’t challenge us that much. That’s the kind of hiking I like! How about you, flatter trails or tons of challenging hills, which do you prefer? Maybe a combination of the both?

of course a flat track. It doesn't take a lot of energy to get to the destination point. The images you display are always interesting to look at.

Ok, sometimes in order to get to those truly epic views, one has to do a bit of climbing. Thanks for stopping by.

I'd agree with that, sometimes the colours just win. Thanks.

Over 7000 feet is really high. I have a medical condition that cannot let me do that high because of oxygen, I prefer hike on a plain land without that much elevation. Beautiful shots, the water looks unreal

Geeeshhh, so nice, awesome shots here. What an amazing adventure your showing us with them views and shots to go with. I prefer flat now but I'll still do challenging if needed to get to that epic location. Have a blessed one my friend.

And it does depend who you are out hiking with, sometimes you gotta go solo, if the others don't want to get in them epic views!

What a pretty place! Once I get above 8,000 feet I start having trouble with hiking these days, I'm not as tough as I once was when I hiked 12,000 feet plus without any problems. Great pictures!

At this elevation, it actually wasn't bad at all. Honestly couldn't much feel any difference. Don't think I have ever been higher than this. Thanks.
