Hangin around Nipika

Last fall we had the opportunity to spend some time in this area called “Nipika Mountain Resort”. It is an Eco and adventure resort located in the Canadian Rockies, just east of Kootenay National Park. Featuring self contained log cabins with all the amenities, and plenty of cross-country skiing trails/hiking trails; along with fat biking runs as well. Something for everyone and every skill level. We did not stay over night in one of these cabins, this time, but it certainly is tempting for next time! Perhaps we will check out the skiing later on next year, I’m sure this place is just covered with snow now. Thanks for stopping by.

Very beautiful mountains. In taking this photography, the scenery is also quite interesting and I like places like this.

With hiking being my thing, that looks like a great place for a refreshing hike.

Pine trees always manage to create a beautiful view on the hill.

That third photo in black and white... winter itself in its relentless majesty, sub-zero ... the stream froze before the falls, leaving the rock covered in clear ice while leaves frozen into silver fractal patterns adorn the edges ... a gash in the rock that only spring can heal.

In fact, that is so bleak that it is singing with the voice of Martti Talvela, Finnish basso profundo, about only fresh grass, and lying on it, can heal those made sick by winter ... Schumann's heartbreaking "Erstes Grun" cries out like that picture does!

Martti Talvela, what a great bass voice box on that guy! Thanks for serenading us this Christmas Eve!

One of the greatest to ever do it .... thank you for bringing up that memory from earlier in the year for me (obviously, early spring)!

Imagine looking down over the edge of that cliff, scary indeed. The angles of the shots are unbelievable.

I didn't want to get too close to that edge. That was close enough. Thanks for visiting.

On this photo “you painted it with your camera and with your talent”... It's deep, striking to the eye, a superb vertical landscape!

Sure is a pretty place, and I bet it would be great during ski season! I liked the colors today, maybe it's just my mood but they came out great. That first one is just plain awesome!
