First Summer Hike!

IMG_20230703_142951_Original.jpeg

Let the Summer begin. First hike out of the gate is Helen Lake. Located inside Banff National Park. This one has been on my radar for about five years or so. Last time we attempted this one the hike was closed due to bear activity. So what did we do? Just across the highway is Bow Lake and Bow glacier, perfect. It ended up being a blessing in disguise. The hike to the glacier was fantasatic and highly recommended. Anyways, back to today’s hike. The estimated length is about 4-5 hours with about 600 or so metres of elevation gain. Considered a moderate hike. For me, this is about the extent of any hiking I do. Here are the first few pictures I took.

Amazing scenes. The Banff national park seems to be one of your favorite places. It looks unbelievable. I think a lot of film makers will always choose places like this for their sci-fi movies.

In fact some movies have been made in the area actually. Can’t beat the scenery.
