Epic Olive

IMG_20240917_150723_Original.jpeg

This is one pretty little lake! It is called “Olive Lake”. I suppose if it were up to me, I would have called it “Turquoise Lake” instead. As it looks more turquoise than olive, especially in this light. If overcast weather, I could see why “Olive “ could make more sense. Light exposure typically changes lake colour. The colour is almost an illusion. Sunlight and photography always go very well together. Throw in a reflection or two, and things can get magical. Did you visit any magical lakes last Summer? If so, drop a picture in the comment section below.

Lakes are always interesting things to see, especially being able to visit them directly like you is much more interesting and fun.

If possible, it is always better to be there in real life, but the next best thing are the photos. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful pictures of the landscape, the water of the lake looks crystal clear. Greetings and excellent post

That fourth photo in black and white ... it is like there is a cave beneath, and stairs, and we might walk down to unfathomable depths ... while in color, it is like someone laid down a pavement of sapphire and turquoise on the other, with a jagged hole cut!

Beautiful reflections, beautiful photos, may I say that you should get a camera... so that only then will they be wonderful. Regardless of what many say that some cell phones have better cameras than cameras, photography connoisseurs see the difference in quality and it is unquestionable

Haha it's funny how the river or the area is not olive but it's called olive lol. I think the name of the place comes from something really different, but then Turquoise wouldn't be a bad name

Right? Maybe Turquoise was taken already. Have to name a lake something lol.

I love both black and white and color photography, but there's something about the colors in nature that just hit differently.

Very true, I would agree usually. Thanks for having a look.

I agree that turquoise would have made a great name. The water is so shallow that it really has that nice color and so calm I can see why those reflections come out so nicely. Water and sun really are a great combo for photography, those are some good shots today! The first one is really cool with the notch in the mountains reflecting off of the surface. Well done!

With such great subject material, it seems too easy sometimes. Just love the Rocky Mountains. Thanks @thebighigg.
