Dock Shots
What do most lakes tend to have? (At least those that are closer to civilization) A dock of course. After our lake perimetre walk, it was time to relax and check out the one dock here at Annette lake. The water was so pristine, and had this lovely light turquoise colour to it. Literally perfect for fishing wouldn’t you say? Well this time, I did not bring a rod, but next time, I think I will need to bring it along. Did you get a chance to go fishing this Summer?

Water shots look so fresh, very nice. I fished once with my nephews, nothing caught but a bight.
I don't fish all that often either, but really need to step up my game.
Yeah I miss it, I used to fish a lot but it slowed way down.
Clear water looks good :)
It was awesome
The water is sooo clear. Must be awesome to get a canoe and paddle out - not that I've exactly got the best sense of balance lmao! The idea still sounds nice, though haha. So fascinated at what some of the wonders may be below the water.. visibility seems amazing!
Yes, the water ironically was so clear, but the surrounding air so smoky! Thanks @ma3str0
Not sure if you answered this one yet my good friend.. but why was there smoke around? A barbeque?
It was due to forest fire activity in the general area.
That's tragic.. hope it was brought under control as quickly as possible.
There has been a lot of forest fire activity up here in Canada over the last 5 months or so.
The brave firemen must have put up a valiant effort in an attempt to bring things under control - must have been wild! Hope everything is looking much better now my friend.
Not sure what to make of all the unusual fire activity this year. Certainly out of the ordinary.
We had really bad wild fires in Cape Town quite a few years back.. it is a horrific ordeal, so I can relate in that manner. Hopefully everything will remain calm on that front for us all.
Maybe wildfires are the least of your concerns living in Cape Town, I’ve heard there is a fair bit of violence etc going on there?
Cape Town is a beautiful place and one of the many special places in South Africa. The landscape here is rich. Several years ago, Cape Town almost ran out of water. Residents were rationing themselves to try not reach what was termed 'Day Zero'. We've been able to recover brilliant from that point though, by being blessed by plenty of rainfall in this region.
Unfortunately, there is also a fair deal of crime.. I am blessed in that where I am now is pretty safe (as a whole anyway).
Then recently there was 'taxi strikes', which caused a lot of violence and disruption. That part (i.e. the taxi strikes) have come to an end thankfully. In addition to all of that, it seems that there is potentially a lot of corruption too. Well and let's not forget about the infamous 'loadshedding' - essentially rolling blackouts.
Overall, a great place.. plenty of challenges for sure.
@daveks Contemplating the lake, with turquoise stones, is a highlight, I have never seen them, your photos are very good, I congratulate you, you manage to find places where very few people go. Friend, have you eaten octopus, today I made a post about arepas stuffed with octopus and vegetable salad, carrot, potatoes, avocado. I appreciate your visits.
I'm sure that was delicious!
That's right friend @daveks it is a vegetable cream (papaya, carrot and potatoes) very nutritious and delicious. Thanks for your visit.
Those pictures look great. 😍
Thanks
Wow… now that is one very clear lake. Beautiful photos. 📷
It was a beauty.
