Canada Goose
(Edited)
When one thinks of Canada, often you think of the Canada Goose. These birds are really huge and quite plentiful up here in Canada. They do like to hang around small bodies of water. But hey, don’t get too close or these bigger birds will charge at you. Watch out! Also, watch your step, groups of birds produce large amounts of excrement, and you want to avoid messing up your shoes. Lovely birds they are. Do you see any of these geese in your local neighborhoods?

Rul clear pictures, that feather pattern is quite beautiful.
These Big Birds are really quite elegant bos.
Sesame Street has nothin' on them
In the “bygone days” when I used analogue film on my Minolta or Rolleiflex, I mostly used Ilford products. When it came to selecting objects, I tended to focus on buildings or people. Animals (at least in my opinion) lose a great deal of their natural beauty with the “loss” of colour.
That is true, and I would agree somewhat with that. I just like include the B&W versions always. Thanks for the comment.
What a fantastic capture of the Canada Goose! Your photos beautifully showcase their grace and natural habitat. It's always a pleasure to see wildlife up close through your lens. Thanks for sharing this wonderful moment !
Thanks, it was a lot of fun photographing these small beasts.
Beautiful closeup shots, the colors are just out of this world.. look at that. You're right about those birds powerful beaks and wings, and they just make the environment beautiful
A pond without birds just doesn’t feel the same. Love them big birds. Thanks.
Greetings @daveks ,
Lovely photographs of these Canadian Geese.....appreciate the close-ups. We see them here and there, from a distance.
What's interesting the colour photographs and the black and white each highlight something different....enjoyed seeing both.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
Glad you appreciate both versions. These birds have a pretty far reach into the US as far as I know. Thanks.
They do indeed...also in the UK...I had to look it up...since I thought perhaps I had mistaken the goose's identity....anyway...thought you might find it of interest as well.
.
Nice shots my friend, we have a lot at all of our lakes and bodies of water. At my local lakes, we have one that I call Limpy (He's old school and has a limp Haha) and I will tell you this it charges everyone, its not a nice one at all but the others are pretty nice. When its breeding and baby time, is when they get a little more aggressive. Have a blessed one.
Wonderful to look at, but don’t get too close or else! Take it easy.
Color takes the day on these! Beautiful birds but they have a mean streak, I always keep my distance from any geese! You're very right about watching where you step because they leave the whole area littered with their droppings!

Yes, get close at your own risk. Zoom lens is a must!
Awww... Beautiful first photo, it is a charming bird and that cutout and central composition make it feel like I'm there looking closely at this creature!... Bird photography is also very good for you friend @daveks!... Applause!

The look in its eyes means don't you try to mess me. Hahaha, Thank you for sharing that it's dangerous to be on the bad side of the Canada goose.
Yep. Enjoy, but stay at a distance!
Hahaha, is the government owns the goose?
Gov agents..
I see. They really have a task to do.😁
What a timing I would say. I personally liked the colour photos the most. :)
