Along the Bow

Early February in the Canadian Rockies, and still plenty of unfrozen river water! Global warming or cyclical warming, you tell me? Last weekend we had the pleasure of walking around the Bow river, which runs by the town of Canmore, Alberta. Unfortunately, due to heavy fog and light rain, the heavenly mountains were not viewable for the majority of our walk around. So we just made the most of our time there. Got some exercise, got some pictures, got some coffee, that made it worthwhile. Have you been out and about this Winter? Tell us about it in the comments below.

You always manage to find the awesome down trees and put them perfectly in your shot's, love it. Hopefully this rain caused snow in the mountains, so I can go back up there and try to find the Bald Eagles again and get them in snow shot's.

It’s warm out East too. If you call -2 Celsius warm. That’s a warm February for us.

I've been enjoying Canmore for about 13 years now, still love it here! I hike often and still have not even come close to doing all the ones just in Kananaskis, so much to see!

That is a nice picture of the Bow btw, I walk my dog there pretty often. It was cool to see this on PeakD so thanks

All these dangers threatening the globe are really serious lately and definitely make you think twice about what tomorrow will actually bring especially since it turns out less and less predictable. Happily, in my country, we already face around +10 Celsius degrees but most likely a similar scenery is up in the mountains.

Yeah, never know what to expect anymore. Just have to be prepared for all types of weather. Thanks for the visit.

Ice on the surface of the river, it's still a long way from melting because it's still Winter yeah?
Over here, no Winter at all.

"High-level landscaping in its purest form"... Impossible to decide how they look better today, both in color and black and white are art!... Thanks for sharing @daveks friend!

Pretty sure it just says cyclists and pedestrians are allowed (I think).

Nothing to do with us humans either way...

Those black & whites look eerie, esp with that stick there & what with those foggy weather manipulated by aliens

With those clouds in the background the black and whites came out great! Looks like a nice place to get some exercise along the river, and unseasonably warm obviously.

Perfect for exercising yes, but a little on the icy side. That being said, there were folks out jogging, must have had spikes on their runners though.
