MCGI Love Prayer Meeting// Held on Tuesday July 18th.

Greetings Brethren, hope everyone is doing good. I was able to join in the MCGI prayer meeting last night which underscored the need for believers not to give themselves to worship of the devil.

There were diverse scriptures that was used in expounding this session of the program and we would be looking into a few of them below to have a concise but comprehensive view of what transpired in the program.

First, I would love to lay emphasis in the book of Luke 4:1-13 which was a portion used in the course of the teaching. This scripture talked about the event that happened between Jesus and the devil.

From this scripture we would observe that after Jesus was baptized, He was tempted by the devil in 3 different ways which ranged from turning stone to bread to bowing to worship him and finally falling from the pinnacle in Jerusalem.

In all the temptations, Jesus never sinned but remained resolute after which the devil left Him. I learnt that there is no amount or height of fasting or anointing that one carries that has the potency to scare the devil away from tempting him but one's tenacity or faith in keeping to God's word can scare the devil away or possibly giving in to the allures of the devil.

Further in Revelation 13:15 as used in the meeting, we would observe how the beast that came out from the earth which had two horns like that of a Lamb commanded that anyone that wouldn't worship the image of the first beast should be put to death.

This was the revelation of John and it's actually a future event that's imminent although many may doubt it but it'll soon turn into a reality.

I learnt that there are believers who probably on account of missing the rapture would be murdered for not worshipping the image of the beast. It calls for tenacity on the side of those who would be left out in the rapture but then, we must be prepared at all times to meet with our Lord Jesus in the air when the call is made.

Job was still another person that was troubled by the devil on account of his faith in God but he kept to his faith and never offended God. We would see this in Job 1:8-22 although all these scriptures weren't emphasized in the program but I learnt that in everything, we have to keep believing in God despite the current condition of things whether favorable or unfavorable.

Also in Isaiah 2:22, we were admonished to believe in God and not to hold to any man because his power lies in his nostril and when his power, which is his breath, is taken out from his nostril, he becomes powerless.

From this verse of the scripture, I learnt that it is only God that deserves to be reckoned with because He cannot die, lie or even fail in His promises but men can fail and men can die which is actually how God created us.

Moreso, in the course of the meeting, Brother Daniel and Brother Rodel were ushered in to expound more on the subject matter which also underscored the need of believers not to worship the devil.

At this phase, Brother Daniel talked about the passing into glory of Pastor Eli as he kicked against why people would question why they usually play the videos of Pastor Eli who has passed into glory.

I love the answer of brother Daniel regarding this' because even the word of God we study was written by the Apostles and these Apostles are all dead and we are still reading their Epistles.

The fact about this is that Pastor Eli has made an indelible remark in the work of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and his epistles which are his written works and tapes can never be forgotten in the history of those who have contributed to the expansion of the kingdom.

In Philippians 1:27, Apostle Paul admonished the Church to be steadfast in the faith and fighting for the gospel of the kingdom. We believers who are yet in the world should act likewise, doing all we could to see that the kingdom is advanced through our manner of living.

In James 3:14-15, the Bible talked about people not living in deception when they strife and envy others because such life is devilish and tantamount to worshiping the devil.

When believers condescend to exhibit worldly characters like quarrel, envy, malice etc, it is equal to worshipping the devil because such are the behaviors of the devil and Christians have to desist from it.

Conclusion
Believers have to keep to the word of God for us to overcome the devil because one can easily err in what is ambiguous to him than what that is lucidly stated.

Believers should also note that the devil is not scared of our personalities but he can only be scared away by the faith which we manifest in Christ.

The word of God cannot prosper in congregations where there is envy quarrel and fighting but orderliness will help the gospel of the kingdom to gain the dominion that is due for it.

Finally we have to abstain from striving as believers because this is the manner of the devil and when this character is being exhibited by believers, it shows that we have declined from the height God placed us to concede to Satan's way of life which equaled worshipping the devil himself.
