My Weekend Ranked Battles #3

🇪🇸

Batalla 3, vs Zombie Tempo Death:

My Weekend Ranked Battles #3

🇺🇸

This weekend has been fatal, not only in-game but also in real life, as I've had to battle with power and internet outages. As for the weekend game, I decided to use an Anubian Death deck that was doing very well for me during the regular week. However, as soon as the weekend battles started, it was the start of one of the biggest losing streaks I've had in this game.

There are some things to salvage and mistakes to learn from. Let's take a look at 3 interesting battles from my weekend.

Battle 1, vs Control Nature:

In this match, I had a bad start and I think I rushed a little bit when I started playing Anubian minions that I could have gotten more value out of. I also did a lot of damage to myself by drawing with Dangerous Ritual and soon I was in a situation where I had to start draining life but I had already sacrificed a Raving Necromancer. Later on, I was able to revive my Raving Necromancer along with other 1-cost Anubians and even activate Feast on the Dead but the mage had a strong board presence and I couldn't take control of it.

Battle 2, vs Amazon Nature:

This time, I was able to take advantage of Raving Necromancer and Priestess of Takhat from the beginning and maintain board control by eliminating the enemy's low-cost minions while resurrecting my Anubians. The enemy starts playing their stronger minions and takes control of the board, however, they already have less than half health and I have a Land of the Dead waiting to be used to revive my Anubians and deal the damage that's missing. I didn't manage to finish them off in this turn but I was left with only one health point, I remove a Combat Medic from the sanctum to prevent the opponent from taking it and healing themselves and I wait to see their death in the next turn.

Battle 3, vs Zombie Tempo Death:

I realized I was doing myself a lot of unnecessary damage so I decided to change my power to Ignite instead of Soul Burn, the opponent starts strong by summoning zombies which they then buff with armor so Ignite doesn't do me much good and my minions don't do enough damage, I manage to get rid of the opponent's weapon and obelisk to prevent them from summoning more zombies but then they start summoning their stronger minions when I no longer have board presence, I don't have much to do but surrender.

thanks, I think it is the best finisher for an anubian deck.

it was the start of one of the biggest losing streaks I've had in this game.

I feel you. Once in a while, I am also into a losing streak after a good winning streak. I guess it is the norm right now. After a winning streak you'll be dealt with a winning streak.

I totally agree, everything that goes up must come down.
