Vintage Photos - eBay Set #1 (173-176)

See the previous post in this series here.

I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.

This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.

The first two photos in this set are not labeled or dated but were certainly taken some time in the mid to late 1960s. They feature a dual birthday part of which at least one photo has shown up in past sets. I'm not sure how or if these two individuals are related (one is turning 51 and the other 52) but I was guessing they were brother and sister. I still can't quite make out the names. For the girl, my best guess is still Dottie. For the guy I had previously guessed Jimmy or Jhonny...but now that first letter looks like an 'S' to me so I don't know.

The third photo was processed in May 1965 and shows a squirrel being fed Skippy peanut butter. A pet squirrel (or perhaps just a squirrel being nursed back to health?) has shown up in a number of previous sets.

The last photo is not dated but also would have most likely been taken in the mid to late 1960s. It featuers a well dressed older gentleman standing in a kitchen.

processed May 1965

The entire collection that has been scanned and uploaded so far can also be found here. This also includes higher resolution versions and versions with post processing.

These really are some fantastic old photos. I love the suit the fellow in that last photo is wearing.

Thank you so much for your support of my @v4vapp proposals in the past, my previous one expired this week.

I'd be really happy if you would continue supporting my work by voting on this proposal for the next 6 months:

Additionally you can also help this work with a vote for Brianoflondon's Witness using KeyChain or HiveSigner

If you have used v4v.app I'd really like to hear your feedback, and if you haven't I'd be happy to hear why or whether there are other things you want it to do.

Hello @darth-azrael

These pictures are cool. I like seeing the 60s style of furniture. It's not my favorite by any means but I grew up in 60s.

I don't really like the white shirt and black tie. It's boring lol!

Look at the leapard shirt on that lady. Not my favorite either but interesting. I'm glad she is helping the squirrel.
