What to do on Hive?

Here are a few simple answers.

Sign Up! - Often the hardest part, then you must save your keys and back them up. Login to Hive.blog and login to Peakd.com using hivesigner. These two sites can be used on mobile and on PC, so practice logging in and out carefully! Do not lose your passwords.

1 Power Up Hive - Your account doesn't work with out! In order to 'pay' for transactions on the blockchain, whether its voting or commenting or publishing new posts, you need it for your account to work! You may encounter problems along the way if you don't have any HP! Delegations can help, but you should POWER UP all your Hive, if you have less than 150HP.

2 Curate New Posts! - That means vote on stuff. Reward other users like you want to be rewarded! You need at least 150 HP to have a 0.0015 upvote. If you have less than this you won't earn much from voting and you won't be giving much value either. Believe in the Hive Community! Power up 150 HIVE ($30 USD) to start 'giving back' to the community by increasing the power of your upvote. Read new posts carefully and determine what content YOU want to vote for!

3 Leave helpful comments! - Don't be a jerk, build positive relationships with other users by adding helpful or kind comments. You can encourage others and try to participate in good ideas offered by others. Be wary of scams and avoid clicking unsafe links. We can support users just by voting on their posts and offering useful contributions as comments. Imagine if it was your post!

4 Send users Transfers! Hive is web3.0, with user-centered pages, and a wallet. If you see something you really like, show your appreciation with actual value! I have seen stories of books being written, parks being made, people being fed, games being created, lives being changed, all by the Hive Community supporting one another with encouraging words, upvotes and some hard work.

5 Author some really great posts! Be a regular and devote some of that time you waste on Social Media, to composing your best 'Proof Of Brain' work. Compose your best ideas! Publish your ideas, provably with the blockchain. Timestamped and curated, voted on and imprinted in the coin.

Bring your Community to Hive! Join Communities, browse new ones, or start your own, there is plenty of room for Hive to grow so consider building your next group here! But first, read through the groups that have already been created and get to know the place. Read all you can, this is a delegated proof-of-stake based blockchain ledger with 3 second blocks.

6 Play Hive-based Games! There are a few games here, like Splinterlands, and more. Always be careful with your keys and know the difference between your master key, posting key, active key, memo key, and owner key. (glossary/#key). Don't enter your master key into a Dapp you don't trust. NYKNYC, personal financial responsibility is a must. Games are ways to spend Hive and not earn money but there are interesting value mechanisms at play, for instance digital trading cards.

Be Social! - Make Friends and be a great Hive user! Call for !PIZZA or !BEER in a comment to initiate a tip from a social bot, if you have enough PIZZA or BEER staked in your Hive-Engine wallet. As a second layer there are tokens that are free to transfer, some that can be staked and earned, but mostly they are just lots of fun to play with and to send to one another. Be a participant on Hive!
