The best time to plant a tree was yesterday,
but the second best time is now!

One of the things I decided I wanted to do when I was younger was plant a forest. I used to ride my bike east of home to the edge of the neighborhood where there was a long row of tall tall trees. I would ride down the trail covered in the old fallen pine needles and leaves. In the summer and the autumn breeze I would ride as fast as I could with the tall trees on either side down the path.

When I was there I felt at peace and it was a place, away from home but nearby, that reminded me of the mountains where I would go camping in the summer. My neighborhood had trees but no where quite like this long row of tall tall trees. Now there are houses, and a few of these trees remain, but most were cleared in the building of the subdivision for homes and yards.
