Wow, Time flies.
Wow, I'm still surprised it is one year already since I got into Hive, I got to know about this platform by George-dee. I remembered before then, we did Steemit and he introduced me to Uptrennd which I didn't do because I feel like people are been bais on Uptrennd.
Mostly I love writing about sports and I remembered after my introduction post, I started posting about sports and was getting little engagement on it after some days it stopped. That time, I didn't know you have to post under a community that supports your write-up so I stopped writing again even if writing about sport is something I love doing.
I opened a sports blog back then, my engagement on other platforms are mostly sport and to be honest, I'm good at it, my dream one day is to be a pundit.
After some time, George-dee contacted me again and put me through some things I didn't understand, I got back on here and started doing my thing. I wasn't getting the heart but I got engagement-like comments which made me happy. I didn't care about the money, all I did was post about sports. There was a time I used a hashtag when I posted about sport and the community who owns the hashtag said I shouldn't use it because I'm not from their country. I was so angry and I felt that racism, I told George-dee and he said I should avoid them and keep engaging.
The stubborn me wrote another sports post and still used their hashtag again, in the comment section of the previous post when I and one of the community curators were chatting, I made it clear that I'm from Nigeria but you kept insisting the tag is for a particular people from that country, so here is my question how sure are that everyone using the tag is from your country?
I used the tag again and I got a massive downvote on that post and two of my other post. I was so angry, as a Yoruba man from Ekiti. There was no one to report to or no one to fight for me so my anger made me leave Hive again.
After some months George-dee didn't stop, he texted me again and told me about Hive learner and that I should join the community, I was reluctant but he didn't stop, I don't know what he saw in me that made him keep encouraging me to write. Later, I join Hive learner and saw the community is different, the way they encourage their member in the comment section, and their interaction on discord is just amazing. They make you feel like family.
I started writing back but this time around not sports but doing contests which make it easier for me to come up with something. Under one of my posts Maryjacy introduced me to ladiesofhive and two other platforms. I joined ladies of Hive and the welcome was fabulous even though it was name ladies of Hive they didn't tell me it is for ladies only.
Then I came across three tunes Tuesday, mariaanwest freewriter and things got more interesting. Every day, once I wake up, I check my Hive first to see what's going on before doing anything.
Some days are not easy to write while some days are the opposite and here is my advice to newbies, look for a good Community to join and always engage in their contests and follow the rules.
For the community that downvoted me because of me using their tag, well I can't probe your community but I still remember the names of people that did the downvote and I hope you come across this post, I hope it tells you that Hive was created to promote people passion, encourage one and other and be one big family.
The world is less of love now and more ego, which platform like this wants us to show each other love and support. Thanks to George-dee for not giving up on me. I hope to meet you soon one of these days.
Thank you Hive

I admire your courage😂😍 thank you for this. It was quite inspiring😂 So did you stick to one community? How did you manage that?
I didn't stick just one community, I joined mostly the one who do contest and i mentioned some in my post
Alright. Thank you.
Joining community that host contest make it easier for you to write, they always give you topic and you just build up the topic
