This topic for today's contest, makes me remember how great my country is when it comes to killing one's dreams.

I remember when I was still a kid and I was asked what I want to be in the future just like every other is been asked, my choice of course to study was to be a doctor. I wanted to help a lot of people, and if possible save a lot of lives but my dream changed as soon as I began to grow up. I realized life wasn't as beautiful as we thought it was when we were kids and thanks to my country for being part of that.

A few years after I left secondary school, I got an admission into laspotech to study computer science, my choice changed because I didn't come from a rich family, and also no government support for schooling. I chose Computer science because let's take a look at the world now, everything is going computerized and it is also a course where you can easily get a job as long as you are good with what you do.

The demand for employment in the field will rise every year just because the world is shifting so fast and that is aside from my love for computers. I started doing design when I was 13 years old from just watching my brother do design on our neighbor's computer, he was going for computer training. It wasn't a really big design but it was everything to me, I practice with every label or handbill I come across using Microsoft word and not Corel draw. It was my passion and also the job opportunity and big salary were part of it but school teaches less practical and more theory, that was sad though but the saddest was that I couldn't further after my first degree. I still feel bad but that is life for us, I lost passion for the course after struggling to catch up with it.

I'm planning on going back to further more and the course I'm looking forward to studying is either psychology or counseling because if there is one thing I know how to do is listen to people, study people, and be able to help them out, I wish I had understood what I was good at from what I am passionate about. I believe those skills of mine will actually help me help people to heal from whatever physiological or mental issue they are dealing with.

Do enjoy your weekend

Indeed computer studies is vital in the generation that we are and is heading to. Unfortunately, the standard of the country made you considered switching course, I hope you find joy with counselling or psychology as you further your studies
