Discovering Abilities XXXIII: Scattershot [EN - ESP]

Keep the series moving forward by looking at the abilities in Splinterlands. This week we already reached analysis number 33 and there are fewer and fewer. Although I am already thinking about what content I am going to bring you weekly once I have analyzed each and every one of the available skills. In the meantime, new analysis this week. It's time for Scattershot and I'll use Coastal Nymph and the water mallet to work this analysis out. Are you coming?

Turno para Scattershot y utilizaré a Coastal Nymph y el mazo de agua para trabajar este análisis. ¿Te vienes? Comenzamos.

I think this is the first time I use a card from the Riftwatchers edition to analyze an ability because Riftwatchers is a very recent edition and I don't use any card regularly in the water or land decks. There are very few cards that provide this "strange" ability. The problem with Coast Nymph is obvious and is its high nine mana summoning points. However, in exchange for Scattershot it has three points of ranged damage and seven points of vitality and two points of shield and speed.

Creo que es la primera vez que utilizo una carta de la edición Riftwatchers para analizar una habilidad. Y es que Riftwatchers una edición muy reciente de la que no utilizo con asiduidad ninguna carta ni en el mazo de agua ni en el de tierra. Y es que hay muy pocas cartas que aporten esta "extraña" habilidad. El problema de Coast Nymph es evidente y son sus elevados nueve puntos de maná de invocación. Eso si, a cambio además de Scattershot tiene tres puntos de daño a distancia y una vitalidad de siete puntos y dos de escudo y velocidad.

Only nine cards have Scattershot. However, absolutely all of them have it in their first level of evolution, that is, it is an ability that comes standard with new cards. As a noteworthy note is that two of these cards are Riftwatchers and another one is Soulbound. In this case, in addition, a card that I already have in my collection as Madcap Magus. Two cards from the fire deck and another two from the green deck have Scattershot. In addition, three of the nine are legendary. Conqueror Jacek, Raa and Chaos Dragon.

Solo nueve cartas tienen Scattershot. Eso si, absolutamente todas la aportan en su primer nivel de evolución. Es decir, es una habilidad que viene de serie con nueva cartas. Como nota destacada es que dos cartas de esas son Riftwatchers y otra más Soulbound. En este caso, además, una carta que ya tengo en mi colección como es Madcap Magus. Dos cartas del mazo de fuego y otras dos del mazo verde cuentan con Scattershot. Además, tres de las nueve son legendarias. Conqueror Jacek, Raa y Chaos Dragon.

Okay, Dani, but what does Scattershot bring to our strategy? Well, basically what this ability does is that the attacks of the card with this ability are directed randomly against a rival card I.e. Coastal Nymph can attack in the first round to the card in the last position of the opponent and, in the next round, to the card that is in the second position. That is why I said in the introduction that it is a "strange" ability because it has a strong random component. Its objective in a given round can be key or attack the card we are least interested in eliminating.

Vale, Dani, pero, ¿qué nos aporta Scattershot a nuestra estrategia? Bien, pues basicamente lo que hace esta habilidad es que los ataques de la carta con esta habilidad se dirigen de manera aleatoria contra una carta rival. Es decir, Coastal Nymph puede atacar en la primera ronda a la carta en la última posición del rival y, en la siguiente ronda, a la carta que esta en la segunda posición. Por eso decía en la introducción que es una habilidad "extraña" ya que tiene un fuerte componente de azar. Su objetivo en una ronda determinada puede ser clave o atacar a la carta que menos nos interese eliminar.

My strategy with Coastal Nymph is very limited to high mana summoning fights. Nine mana points spent on a card with ranged attack forces you to have a lot of power in front of it to prevent it from reaching the first position So the strategy is clear: very powerful cards in front of it and wait for Coastal Nymph's random attacks to be directed towards the right opponent.

Mi estrategia con Coastal Nymph queda muy limitada a combates con alto nivel de maná de invocación. Nueve puntos de maná utilizados en una carta con ataque a distancia obliga a tener mucha cantidad de poder por delante de ella para evitar que llegue a la primera posición. Así que la estrategia es clara: cartas muy poderosas delante y esperar que los ataques aleatorios de Coastal Nymph se dirijan hacia el rival idóneo.

Ideal battle to see Scattershot in action. And the fact is that the ability analyzed this week is a battle condition so all cards have this ability. If you watch the battle you will see that each card attacks randomly. And the best example is not Coastal Nymph but a rival card: Pelacor Arbalest that launches two attacks per round. In it you will see that, except for one round, in the others it attacks a different rival even in its two attacks of each round.

Si ves la batalla comprobarás que cada carta ataca de manera aleatoria. Y el mejor ejemplo no es Coastal Nymph sino una carta rival: Pelacor Arbalest que lanza dos ataques por ronda. En ella verás que, salvo una ronda, en las demás ataca a un rival diferente incluso en sus dos ataques de cada ronda.

Scattershot is an ability that can be useful in battles in which we want to eliminate a card in the center of the opponent's lineup as soon as possible and that we can't reach with the usual abilities Destroy that well-covered healer in the fourth position of the opponent, or that "heavy" card that renews again and again the shield of the opponent's tank. Those cards, if the opponent places them well, will be a headache. Well, in that situation an attack with Scattershot can be directed at these cards and eliminate the problem at the very first moment. On the flip side, the attack may never go where we want it to, but I think it's a lesser evil compared to the benefit we could get. Score of 7 out of 10 for Scattershot.

Scattershot es una habilidad que nos puede servir en batallas en las que nos interesa eliminar una carta en el centro de la alineación rival cuanto antes y a la que no podemos llegar con las habilidades habituales. Destruir ese sanador bien cubierto en la cuarta posición del rival, o esa carta "pesada" que renueva una y otra vez el escudo del tanque rival. Esas cartas, si el rival las coloca bien, serán un dolor de cabeza. Pues bien, en esa situación un ataque con Scattershot puede ir dirigido a esas cartas y eliminar el problema a las primeras de cambio. En el lado contrario, el ataque puede que nunca se dirija donde queremos pero creo que es un mal menor en comparación con el beneficio que podríamos obtener. Nota de 7 sobre 10 para Scattershot.
