RISHIKESH The Yoga Capital of the World
Hello everyone today I will take you on an unforgettable journey to the yoga capital of the world RISHIKESH. It is known for the holy GANGA river that flows through it. RISHIKESH is a spiritual hub where yoga and meditation are at the heart of its culture. Temples and ashram line the banks of the river espically around Swarg aashram a peaceful traffic free and alcohol free zone.
Our journey started from Shimla it was 260km to travel to Rishikesh by road it took us 8:00-9:00 hours to reach there so on the first day we decided to take rest as everyone got tired so we started finding hotels for the stay nearby as it would be easy and approachable for the market access and we could go on foot to explore the market.
LITTLE BUDDHA CAFE
So every one was feeling hungary so we set off in a search of a good restaurant after a little wandering we stumbled upon a cozy spot called LITTLE BUDDHA CAFE. The place was packed but we decided to wait and after an hour we finally got a seat. The atmosphere was so beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious flavourful and satisfying. It was definitely worth the wait and the vibe made it even more special. Highly recommend it if you are ever in RISHIKESH.
OM FREEDOM CAFE
Next morning we headed out for the breakfast to a lovely spot called OM FREEDOM CAFÉ just by the Ganga river. The ambience was peaceful with great seating overlooking the water. The food was amazing and the hospitality was top notch. It was the perfect start to our day.
VEG SHAKSHUKA
GARLIC BREAD
The food we ordered was flavourful and satisfying. It was the perfect blend of taste and nutrition making our day. We were completely full not just from the delicious meal but also from the serene ambience and the stunning view of the GANGA RIVER.
RAM JHULA
After filling up on energy we headed to the iconic RAM JHULA. It’s a single bridge stretched across the GANGA connecting one side of the river to the other. The architecture was impressive but it got a little nerve wracking at times especially when bikers zoomed across causing the bridge to swing. The swaying made it feel ever scarier but the view and the experience were absolutely thrilling.
After this we spotted a beautiful garment shop we got inside the shop the shopkeepers were very kind they treated us well and showed us some of the beautiful pieces. The shop had the clothes of pure cotton and the prices were also affordable so we liked some of the pieces and bought it.
After a minute of walk we stumbled upon a vibrant market filled with colourful dream catchers. The stalls were overflowing with these beautiful handcrafted pieces in every shade imaginable. My eyes were instantly drawn to the array of Colors and designs. There were so many options each one unique and it was hard to choose just one.
LAXMAN JHULA
After buying all our stuff we came back on RAM JHULA heading towards the LAXMAN JHULA which you can see on the opposite side . It was a long walk and I specially recommend whoever come here to visit RAM JHULA and LAXMAN JHULA go from the market side as there is no traffic and you can also explore the market.
So we were full of our shopping bags so we decided first to go to the car to put all our stuff so we move freely. After that we spotted a beautiful and peaceful area near the GANGA RIVER and went there to take rest and touch the holy GANGA RIVER. The area for sitting was also nice and clean it was near the RAM JHULA.
As we reached there no one was around we started clicking photographs and filled our bottle with the holy GANGA water. After this we sat in a meditation for some time feeling the sound of the water and the birds chirping around us we felt very relaxed all of our tiredness was gone. We were full of energy for the next mission to accomplish.
After some time lot of people came there some of them jumped into the holy GANGA river to take the blessing. We started talking to them they were waiting for the raft boat as they were having booking for the adventures rafting. Rishikesh is very famous for rafting lot of tourist come there for adventures sports.
Soon after there raft arrived the raftman was also experienced he was giving all the safety instructions to the people who were going on it to make them feel comfortable so they can enjoy the ride he was also offering us for the ride but some of us refused not wanted to get wet. So we happily waved our hands for our new friends who were going on raft with the happy and safe journey.
After some time lots of people started gathered water activities kicked off creating a lively atmosphere. We decided to join in and asked for a boat ride it turned out to be a lot of fun especially meeting different people alon the way everyone was enjoying. It costed us 400 rs per person for 20 min ride. The boat operator was jolly and added to the cheerful vibe making the experience even more enjoyable.
It was such a wonderful evening watching the sunset from the moving boat in the middle of the river Ganga. We jumped into the water after wearing the life jackets the experience was awesome which made the journey more thrilling and wonderful. After that we changed our clothes and went back to the hotel to get ready for the night walk to the market. The market was jampacked by the tourists from the different states and countries. The city was very calm and peaceful and known for the yoga hub. That was the end of the story hope you all liked it.
