Siguiendo mi recorrido vacacional, hoy les traigo un paseo por el “pueblo” de Sitges el cual realicé el día miércoles con mi hijo y nietas.
Sitget forma parte de la llamada Costa Dorada perteneciente a Cataluña – España. Para llegar a ella desde donde estamos ubicados tardamos como cuarenta minutos e iba llena de ilusión porque recordaba, de otro viaje hace varios años, un paseo que a la entrada de la playa, a un lado, estaba un cementerio muy al estilo “gótico” y le insistía a mi hijo que quería volver a él para tomar unas fotografías y hacer un reportaje.
No recuerdo como se llamaba el pueblo y Marco, mi hijo, creyó que podía ser Sitget. No entramos por el cementerio, ni me acercó a él, jajajaj, y a playa con todos sus atractivos, no la tengo en mis recuerdos, sin embargo, el paseo a este lugar fue maravilloso, pues es hermoso y lleno de gran riqueza cultural, les comento a través de las fotografías parte de lo que ofrece este pueblo turístico. Espero lo disfrutes.
Llegamos y estacionamos en lo que es la parte moderna de la ciudad y fuimos bajando hacia estos túneles sobre los cuales pasa el tren, al traspasarlos y caminar un poco más encontramos una plaza circular con una escultura de arte cinético.

Following my holiday tour today I bring you a walk through the "village" of Sitges which I did on Wednesday with my son and granddaughters.
Sitget is part of the so-called Costa Dorada belonging to Catalonia - Spain. To get there from where we are located it took about forty minutes and I was full of illusion because I remembered from another trip several years ago a walk that at the entrance of the beach on one side was a cemetery very "gothic" style and I insisted to my son that I wanted to return to it to take some pictures and make a report.
I don't remember the name of the town and Marco, my son, thought it might be Sitget. We did not enter through the cemetery, nor did I go near it, hahahahahah, and I do not have the beach with all its attractions in my memories, however, the walk to this place was wonderful, because it is beautiful and full of great cultural richness, I comment through the photographs of what this tourist town offers. I hope you enjoy it.
We arrived and parked in what is the modern part of the city and we went down to these tunnels through which the train passes, after passing through them and walking a little more we found a circular plaza with a kinetic art sculpture.
Paso a paso vamos encontrando casas, balcones y calles que resultan muy llamativos para el turista y que le dan un toque de fantasía a los espacios.
Step by step we found houses, balconies and streets that are very striking for tourists and that give a touch of fantasy to the spaces.
Así, entre una y otra fotografía nos fuimos acercando a la playa que cuando llegas se abre ese espacio inmenso, lleno de luz y colores que te llenan de gran bienestar.

Tomamos camino hacia un mirador, donde hay un pequeño parque en que las niñas podían descansar de la caminata y jugar. Desde allí se observa lo que llamaría un complejo cultural del que les hablaré más adelante.
We took the road to a viewpoint, where there is a small park where the girls could rest from the walk and play. From there you can see what I would call a cultural complex that I will tell you about later.
En esta parte del mirador se encuentra una hermosa escultura, La dona del Mediterráneo, me encantó. La figura, de tamaño real, mira embelesada hacia el mar y me parece que respira percibiendo el aroma y los sonidos marinos. Esta obra forma parte de un conjunto de esculturas que están distribuidos a lo largo del bulevar costero.
In this part of the viewpoint there is a beautiful sculpture, La dona del Mediterraneo, I loved it, the figure, life-size, looks enraptured towards the sea and it seems to me that she breathes perceiving the aroma and the marine sounds. This work is part of a group of sculptures that are distributed along the coastal boulevard.
Al bajar del mirador y tomar el camino del bulevar se encuentra esta otra escultura llamada “Cris” de la escultora Marta Solggna, una mujer que reflexivamente mira hacia el mar, encuentro en estas esculturas un homenaje a las mujeres.
Going down from the viewpoint and taking the path of the boulevard is this other sculpture called "Cris" by sculptor Marta Solggna, a woman who reflexively looks out to sea, I find in these sculptures a tribute to women.
Mujeres, tanto reales como del mundo de la fantasía, pues más adelante se halla esta escultura de una sirena. Frete a ella surgió una pregunta de la nieta ¿Por qué los pezones y la palma de la mano eran dorados y el resto negro?, la explicación posiblemente este en que haya alguna leyenda que asocie el tocar los pezones o la mano con la suerte.
Women, both real and from the world of fantasy, because further on there is this sculpture of a mermaid. Siguiendo nuestro recorrido hacia el mirador opuesto llegamos a la parte alta, un lugar donde lo cultural cobra fuerza y hace de la ciudad una de las más visitadas de toda la costa dorada.
Continuing our journey to the opposite viewpoint we reach the top of a place where the cultural gains strength and makes the city one of the most visited of the entire golden coast.
Antes de seguir subiendo hay un rellano con unos larga vistas y destaca una escultura en homenaje a la ciudad, reconocida mundialmente, por el Festival de cine de terror y fantasía que desde hace más de 50 años se lleva a cabo anualmente.
Before continuing up there is a landing with a long view and highlights a sculpture in tribute to the city, recognized worldwide, for the Festival of horror and fantasy films that for over 50 years has been held annually.
En la misma plazoleta está escultura del rostro de Cristo.

Casi al frente encontramos un centro cultural, donde había una exposición de pintura y un ciclo de conferencias.

A partir de allí se abre un circuito de museos, salas, espacios testigos de la historia local y nacional.
Uno de los museos que más llamó mi atención por su fachada fue el Palacio de Maricel, una hermosa edificación con rasgos arquitectónicos islámicos que se observan en otros edificios de la ciudad, lamenté mucho que solo abriera los domingos que hay visitas guiadas. Otro rasgo característico del lugar y de las ciudades catalanas en particular son sus angostos pasajes entre las construcciones y que van entretejiendo sus calles principales.
From there opens a circuit of museums, halls, spaces witnesses of local and national history.
One of the museums that caught my attention because of its facade was the Maricel Palace, a beautiful building with Islamic architectural features that can be seen in other buildings in the city, I regretted that it was only open on Sundays when there are guided tours. Another characteristic feature of the place and the Catalan cities in particular are its narrow passages between buildings and that are interweaving its main streets.
Continuando nuestro ascenso llegamos a la iglesia, una construcción imponente que data de 1672 bordeado de un largo pasillo donde encuentras artesanos, artistas y se congrega una buena cantidad de turistas.
Continuing our ascent we arrive at the church, an imposing construction dating from 1672 bordered by a long corridor where you find artisans, artists and a good number of tourists congregate.
Otro monumento que se encuentra en el sitio es un cañón y una corta leyenda que nos narra la dura época de los corsarios.

Cerramos nuestra visita almorzando en un bello negocio ubicado en la parte comercial de la ciudad.
We closed our visit having lunch in a beautiful store located in the commercial part of the city.
