Different coffee... Is it coffee?
Greetings friends of Cinnamon Cup Coffee.
I had a little while without stopping by here, among other things because visits to new coffee shops have not been frequent, but now I am getting back into the rhythm, to savor what the city offers me in terms of coffee.
And speaking of coffee as a school subject, this week I went to visit a coffee shop with my husband, and we tasted “the same”, but different, because the young owner gives a class on how different a coffee is according to its roasting process, among other qualities, I will talk about this topic in another post.
Today I can only tell you that even when the coffee was a “guayoyo”, as we call it here in Venezuela, the preparation was smooth, with each roasting level the flavor was different. The experience was very interesting and rich in knowledge and flavor.
Usually when I leave my house, with the disposition to spend a good time in a coffee shop with my friends, I have the disposition to try a different coffee, however there are times when what I want is to drink my late coffee with the specifications that I find pleasant: a large light brown, with a lot of foam and very hot.
Such was the case last week when I had a birthday and my friends invited me to a new café that recently opened its doors in the city. The truth is that during those days I had eaten a lot of sweets and I didn't feel like, if not my favorite coffee, I didn't even want to see a piece of cake. So we just ordered a single serving to share the three of us and they sang happy birthday to me and everything.
One of my friends then sent me this picture with a very nice message, I love you big guy, as the kids say. "When we feel the need for a hug, we must take the risk of asking for it."
As I mentioned at the beginning, most of the time I venture to try coffees: cold, hot, with ice cream, spices, creams, syrup, cookies or prepared with an alcoholic beverage. Now, I try them, I enjoy them, but I really feel that I am not drinking coffee, coffee. I am drinking a delicious coffee-flavored beverage.
This statement reminds me of when that variety of spiced coffees came on the market. You could find on the shelves coffee with vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, among others. Today, there are people who prepare coffee with turmeric, ginger, pepper, nutmeg or any other spice.
I have tried some of these variants and some of them I have found very tasty, but I insist, is this really coffee? In my opinion, coffee prepared in this way loses its essence, it ceases to be coffee, coffee.
Possibly, the most purist coffee lovers think the same when we add milk or sugar, because these ingredients, as well as any other, take away the purity of the original flavor that leaves its pleasant and soft bitterness in our taste buds for a long time.
Well, let's say that at the end of the day, one cultivates one's tastes and what is delicious for you, does not have to be for someone else, thank God it is so, since with it we experience creativity, and we dare to stimulate and expand our sense of taste.
This is my entry to The Coffee Shop Prompt: Week 85 Oct 3 - 9, greetings and let's continue enjoying a delicious Sunday coffee.

These are the moments that really pay off. I consider that they make you very happy. How nice that you were able to celebrate the special moment with them.
Happy Birthday to you.
You are right in saying that coffee loses its essence when other additives are added to it, it is no longer coffee, but a coffee-flavored drink.
I really liked the phrase that your friend shared with you, it has a very profound message that really touches the heart.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us☕
Good day.
Happy belated birthday my dear @damarysvibra God bless you always 🎂 🥳
I find it interesting that little eye opener you presented us with about coffee roasting and its flavour changes.
The diversity of taste and flavours is definitely what drives us to look for an extra girl in our journey.
A hug 😘
