XDefiant gameplay and first impressions
Is it really THE COD KILLER π€π«
XDefiant is a free-to-play first-person shooter developed and published by Ubisoft. It was announced in July 2021 and recently released on May 21st of 2024. The game stands out by incorporating characters and factions from various Ubisoft franchises, including The Division, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, and Watch Dogs. These factions, known as Defiants, each have unique abilities and playstyles, providing players with a diverse array of tactical options. The maps are also heavily inspired by the same five Ubisoft franchises. Set in a near-future environment, XDefiant combines fast-paced gunplay with specialized abilities, aiming to offer a dynamic and engaging multiplayer experience.
The core gameplay of XDefiant revolves around team-based matches, where players select their preferred faction and customize their loadouts to suit their playstyle. Each faction, such as the Wolves, Outcasts, Cleaners, and Echelon, brings distinct tactical abilities and traits. For instance, the Cleaners, originating from The Division, focus on high-damage output with flamethrowers and incendiary devices, while the Echelon from Splinter Cell emphasizes stealth and reconnaissance. This faction-based system encourages strategic team compositions and synergistic play, as players must coordinate their abilities and roles to achieve victory.
XDefiant also emphasizes player customization and progression. Players can tailor their loadouts with a wide variety of weapons, attachments, and skins, allowing for personalized playstyles and visual flair. The game features numerous modes, but you wonβt find Team Deathmatch. There are unique modes specific to the gameβs setting and mechanics, plus a few traditional ones too. Regular updates and seasonal content are planned to keep the game fresh and engaging, with new factions, maps, and customization options being added over time. By blending elements from various Ubisoft titles and focusing on accessible, fast-paced gameplay, XDefiant aims to carve out a distinct place in the crowded free-to-play shooter market.

Although it has very good graphics, and the truth is that I like them because they are very simple and the gameplay is just as simple, I do not know if there is something missing or that makes it stand out among other shooters, according to the news I read, in 35h already had almost 3M players and on twitch is very transmitted.
But I insist that it is a little more of the same, with respect to CoD or Counter Strike, a deatmach vs 6 players.
Still a very good game
The truth is that this game is very similar to COD. I somehow find myself having way more fun playing XDefiant than MWIII though. I just seem to do way better statistically with XDefiant. My K/D is what it used to be in classic COD games. Something they've done with the newer COD games β I suck at them despite playing for 20+ years. The maps and characters in XDefiant are also really cool because they showcase all of the most iconic Ubisoft franchises. Rainbow Six characters/maps are getting added in the next update. I'm sure we will eventually see Assassin's Creed make its way into the game somehow too.
The game is fairly similar to COD and seems like a "nicer" environment that hasn't been infested by all the "pros" and sweats that make life difficult.
The graphics and dynamics looks like a slightly older version of COD. I'd say something like Vanguard. Looks good though
Not infested by pro players is a huge selling point for me.
It isn't quite as pretty as COD, but it's more fun to me at present time.
Yeah. I've been playing Warzone solos and I turn off cross play to prevent all the cheats on PC from joining my lobby
Big bro happy to be back to check your awesome reviews... Damn did you say three years man that's a lot of time and effort in this game... Epic new username though bro, funny but epic π...
I thought the game would never be released, but it's finally here and they already have new content in the pipeline for it.
Did you get the username? SplashOfSeed π¦
I tried for like 2 minutes and still couldn't get it though...broπππ
It's supposed to be another way of saying "cumshot" since the seeds for a woman's egg are inside semen.
So basically.... "you were killed by a cumshot aka SplashOfSeed"
Damn bro I get it nowπππππππππππ this is some dark humor right there man... I'm going to quote you on this one everything I want to use itπππ
I didn't know about this shooter, it actually looks pretty good. I'll look for it on steam to try it out.
I know I'd love this game. I've been craving something that is more arcade like for years. I dropped CoD years back when it started to implement sbmm, and then Battlefield just dropped the ball entirely. Years back there used to be so many shooters available to choose from, but all went the competitive route, died, or pursued some sort of weird hero shooter style.
The games you mentioned have lost their luster for me kinda too. Thereβs still plenty of great shooters out there though. My personal favorites right now are XDefiant, The Finals, Rogue Company, Overwatch 2, and soon to be Valorant when it gets added to consoles finally later this year.
The competitive nature of Overwatch and things like Valorant just don't cut it for me anymore. I loved Overwatch 1, played that to death. But I really miss those days of playing shooters and having a class I can really customise with different weapons and styles.
Things like Overwatch, those hero shooters, they can be fun but I feel like I really have to perform and that doesn't seem fun. If I play how I want, it could let the team down and we lose what is generally a competitive game. But something like older CoD games, you can sort of just do as you want.
Sometimes I miss playing a bit of CS. But I never really got too into the ranked mode on that either.
I came to see your Gameplay and I see insane shots haha
