My First Loot Chests

Since I returned to Splinterlands I have not yet tested the game's new reward system, the Rewards Shop, where you can use Glint tokens to get Loot Chests, Rarity Draws, Merits, Titles, Energy and Potions.

To be honest, I liked the old rewards system better, which was with Focus Chests and Season Chests, in fact it is not for the chests but for getting rewards like SPS and immediately tradable cards since many players have costs like card rental, SPS rental and Battle Pass nowadays. The only rewards that can be traded immediately are the titles, but their value in Glint is very high and it is not an easy task for many players to accumulate 1,000,000 Glint, 2,500,000 Glint and even 5,000,000 Glint. I know there is a way to unlock Soulbounds cards to be tradable but paying 20x their CP value is extremely expensive and after looking at the market, few cards are sold daily so it is not very advantageous for a player to pay this amount to unlock them in the hope of selling them on the market.

On the other hand for those who want to collect Soulbounds cards to use in battles then this new reward system is better because you can get cards in Rarity Draws and also in Loot Chests, so a player can get a huge amount of cards per season depending on their Glint earnings.

I'm probably complaining too much but there are also other benefits to the new reward system which is the jackpot and in it the highest prize is the 5,000,000 Glint title which is being traded for $500, so if you are lucky enough to get one of these you will make a huge profit.

It's been less than a week since I got back into the game and the reason I haven't tried the rewards store is because I was accumulating enough Glint to open a "large" amount of chests. I was in doubt about which chest to open and after thinking a lot I decided to open the Major Chests because I couldn't accumulate much Glint and that way I would be able to open more Chests.

In the short time I've been playing Splinterlands I've managed to accumulate 31863 Glint, this is a small amount but I'm still developing strategies to see which would be the most profitable in the game so I'm just testing the earnings and seeing what would be the best amount of SPS to rent and also which cards I should rent.

With this amount of Glint I will be able to open 31 Major Chests, each one costs 1000 Glint. This is only 1/5 of the amount of Major Chests I can open this season, excluding the +50% Glint increase after opening 150. Since there are still a few days left until the season ends, I will accumulate more Glint and open a few more. In addition, there is also the Glint gain at the end of the season, so I will start the next one by opening a large amount of Major Chests.

As I already imagined, I will not get any jackpots, but that's okay, maybe someday I will. After testing the current Loot Chests, I really miss the old Splinterlands since the only advantage of the chests besides the jackpot is the energy gain that I can use to battle more often and earn more SPS.

Now I have to calculate the best strategy to win the game and if I find the answer to that, I will share it with you through a post.
