A lesson from my grandmother

My grandmother once gave me a profound lesson: bootstrap parade indeed the tenet if we help others god will help us still pervades many parts of the country.

During the time, I listened and complied with her advice and, though young, did not think much of its importance. Looking back at my past to recall those formative experiences you acquire throughout life,

I see that she was right. The social innocence of extending a helping hand unexpectedly has an influence of leaving an inspiring impact that circles back to more blessings.

Every time that I help a fellow human being in distress, the other person and I become winners and so do I, get the feeling of accomplishment that makes me contented and happy.

This sense of purpose can help one draw in more positivity and fortune manifested in opportunities; this is in line with the notion that ‘when you do good, God/listen/do well to you’. It is still not about waiting for appreciation to act kindly but for one to realize that it is only right that when you are kind to someone, he/she will also be kind in return.

I also discovered the fact that my grandmother’s advice is indeed reliable in my day to day life. Kindness is repaid and so if one has done a kind deed, a similar deed will be done to him or her.

Her lesson has shown me that caring gestures and extending a helping hand are activities that suit the applicable definition of the word, as they affect the lives of others and impact existence in ways that are more important than one can imagine.

Empathy and compassion are still guiding principles in individuals’ actions today; this statement was my reality during the formal education process.
