Pause or Revive My Life: Which One Do I Choose? | W-E #155

Hey friends of the @WEEKEND-EXPERIENCES community, happy to be posting here again and joining in on the fun created by @galenkp.
I won't be able to share anything about my pets at this time since I don't have any with me. The last one I had was a childhood companion, and their departure left me feeling a bit emotional. Nonetheless, we have a list of exciting topics to discuss, and today I'd like to talk about:

... Be able to pause your life, or rewind it?

I find this topic fascinating. I remember when I was in preschool, we were often asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. While everyone had their own unique ideas, there was this one classmate who always stood out - he wanted to build a time machine to travel to the future and see if his dreams had come true. It wasn't until later that we realized he had been influenced by the movie "Back to the Future." It's amazing how this film has inspired multiple generations and has sparked the emergence of a futuristic genre. But let's get back to the topic at hand, rewind my own past.

My youngest sister & me

To be honest, the concept of traveling to the future has never really piqued my interest. It seems a bit dull to me, and I much prefer the idea of enjoying the present and taking things one step at a time. I think it's important to relish the journey and discover what the future holds as we go along. I prefer the sentiment: Enjoy the process. Personally, I've always been more fascinated with the past, both in terms of history and my own personal experiences.
As I'm writing these lines, I'm thinking back to the beginning of the question - "pause your life." Honestly, I can't see myself choosing that option. Perhaps I would choose to relive a moment in my life when I felt my best or achieved great success, but by doing so, I would inevitably leave out other moments of lesser importance or relevance that have still contributed to who I am today and who I hope to become. So, I think I would choose the second option - "relive it all."
I´m just 23 years old, i still have many years ahead of me. I´m determined to make the most of the years ahead and striving to make each better than the last. However, when the times comes, I would choose to relieve my entire life. Let me explain why ...
I was born into a working-class family in a country that has always struggled with economic instability. Needless to say, luxury was not something that we were accustomed to or could afford. However, as a child, I was blissfully unaware of our financial situation and simply enjoyed life.

With my great great grandmother

One of the greatest gifts that life has given me is a close-knit family. From a young age, my parents and siblings always went above and beyond to make sure my sister and I were happy. As I grew older, I began to appreciate these moments more deeply because I understood the sacrifices and hard work that my family put into creating these experiences for us.
These moments created some of my fondest memories - some of them were unique and others were repeated, but each one was special in its own way. Through these experiences, I learned to cherish the simple pleasures in life and to value the time spent with loved ones.
Moving on, my dear reader, you may already know that Cuba, my home country, is currently experiencing one of the largest migration crises in its history. The effects of this crisis are far-reaching and have touched the lives of everyone on the island. We all have a friend, partner, or family member who has left in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones.

Learning to drive with my old man

In my case, all of my childhood friends have emigrated, taking with them all of the memories and unforgettable moments we shared during that time. It's a difficult reality to face, but it's one that many of us in Cuba are grappling with.
That's precisely why the thought of reliving my life fills me with excitement. I look forward to experiencing the things that made me happy before - the thrill of the first trip, the wonder of seeing the ocean for the first time, the joy of exploring my neighborhood, the feeling of falling in love (even if I didn't quite understand it at the time). These are just a few of the countless moments that make life worth living - both the good and the bad.

My childhood band 😅

While I don't enjoy going through tough times, I've come to realize that these experiences often teach us valuable lessons and help us grow as individuals. And if you're reading this and thinking of your own memories, know that we are in the same team.
Every experience I've had - both the good and the bad - has shaped me into the person I am today. From the mistakes I've made to the accomplishments I've achieved, they've all contributed to my growth and development. While I look forward to continuing to grow and learn as I get older, I believe reliving my entire life would give me a chance to fully appreciate all of the moments that have brought me to where I am today.
I grew up with the belief that life is nothing more than a collection of experiences and memories. In my case, I can't complain - I've been fortunate enough to have had many positive experiences in my life so far.

I say yes, let's relive it all!

So, what's your pick - would you rather hit pause or play again? Let me know which team you're on!

And with that, I bring my participation in Weekend-Engagement #155 to a close. I hope you found my post enjoyable, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read it.

See u soon 👋

Well, I marvel at your response to this initiative. I know from your words that you have had 23 years full of love, understanding and that your family has been key in your formation, consciously, with wisdom and that is why you feel so lucky today, so fortunate and eager to relive it all. It is very nice to know, I liked to know you a little more.
Yes, indeed, everything we experience, whether good, bad or regular, shapes us in our humanity. And as a result, we will project ourselves into the future, which - I tell you - is now. Because we tend to think of the future as something distant, but it is not so, the future is already, with every second that counts that artifact we call clock and with which we pretend to corral time.
But now I am going to give you a piece of advice... reliving can be dangerous, because you may be tempted to numb yourself in moments of great pleasure, already lived. If you are able to relive knowing that the past has passed and that from there you can do everything better than you have been doing, then go ahead. Remember... the journey to the future is already underway. What better backpack than memories to walk with a firm step!

@nanixxx I always appreciate your presence on my posts and even more, reading your comments☺️.
Thanks for your words and I gotta say, I totally agree with you. Reviving the past can be dangerous if we get stuck in it and don't move forward towards the future, but at the end of the day, we are the sum of all our experiences and decisions, and it's important to value and learn from everything we've lived to keep growing as individuals. 'Cause if we forget our past, chances are we'll repeat it in the future. So, let's keep our eyes on the future but not forget where we came from 😉
Have a great Sunday!☀️

You and me both. However, how many times I have wished to be able to stop time, but just for me. This was during my university years, when I had a lot to study and time was always running out extremely fast. But other than that, I like to let life manage the time as it is. No traveling to the future, or the past.

Thanks for reading and especially for commenting.
As u said ,it's better to let life flow and manage time as it is. Plus, every moment has its charm and lesson, so it's important to live in the present and learn from each experience.

But let me ask you, is there any moment you would like to relive? Maybe the first time you tried your favorite food?😏 Or something like that? 😅
