How I made a Pillow from Fabric Pieces
Tools/Equipment used
- Fabric pieces
- Fabric to contain the pieces
- Fabric for pillow case
- Sewing machine/needle and thread
- Tape measure
The Process
First, I poured out the pieces from the sack I had kept them
👉 I don't sweep the pieces with dirt in my room. The small sack is just beside my cutting table so I dump the pieces into it as I cut fabrics for different sewing projects.
I made use of an abandoned corduroy fabric as the container for the pillow.
I chose a measurement off hand, I thinks it's the length of 20 inches and a width of 14 inches. I wanted a moderate sized pillow.
After cutting, I sewed three of the four sides of the fabric to create a sack.
Next I stuffed the pieces into the fabric sack I created earlier ensuring that it's not too stuffed or less stuffed.
Then I closed up the opened side with my sewing machine.
I folded in the rough edges to get a neat finishing.
👉 In the absence of a sewing machine, you can use a needle and thread to stitch across.
I chose another fabric for the pillow case with the same measurements as the corduroy fabric.
This was the pillow before the casing
This was while I was inserting the pillow in it's outer case.
The Result
I bet you like it😊😊
👉 Aside using fabric pieces, you can cut foam into pieces and use them as stuffing. It saves money if you ask me.
Thanks for reading through.
A typical case of reusing what would've rather been considered a waste. This is great.
Do enjoy the using the pillow.
Yes oh!
I will enjoy it's use
