Music Genre - Punk
Hello, guys!
Punk rock is a music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. The term "punk rock" was previously used by American rock critics in the early 1970s to describe the mid-1960s garage bands.
The punk style is also characterized by being completely urban, born of nonconformity and boredom with the music scene of the time, which recognizedly promoted "produced" songs and artists, that is, who received a whole preparation of entrepreneurs and technicians involved in the music business. , and that not infrequently, they negotiated the insertion of the songs of their protégés in radio and television.
In the early 80's, punk's intensity wanes, the Sex Pistols disappear, the Ramones continue, but with less intensity, and the Clash will soon die out, and the music scene begins to be dominated by a softer and idyllic style, the so-called "new wave". But the seed of revolt and nonconformity was still very much alive, a fact confirmed by the grunge movement, which would emerge in Seattle, in the early 90's, in the land of guitarist Jimmy Hendrix, and whose main representative would be the most important rock band in decade, Kurt Cobain's Nirvana.
