My Name Is Khan - A Bollywood Movie with a Social Message

My Name Is Khan, one of the most important productions of Bollywood cinema, was remarkable as one of the films that reached a wide audience around the world and delivered a strong message through its own narrative style.

While the film delivers social messages through the character of Rizvan Khan (played by Shah Rukh Khan), it deserves much praise for the way the character, who has an autistic personality, reflects his inner world and his efforts to accept himself in society.

While universal themes such as race, faith and love are explored through the character of Rizvan Khan, the degrees of difficulty encountered are perfectly handled and reflected. The aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and the prejudices created against certain segments of society are dealt with in a different way without marginalizing anyone.

The story and the way the events are reflected in a very thin line does not offend anyone with Shah Rukh Khan's excellent acting. The social tolerance and embrace that is tried to be given to all segments of the society adds great value to the movie.

I must admit that I was initially surprised that such heavy and topical issues could be addressed through an autistic character. It was enjoyable to watch the growing momentum of someone who is still having difficulties in accepting himself into society. Of course, my view of Rizvan Khan's character will be positively discriminatory, but my opinion would be the same even if I didn't discriminate.

The cinematography and music of the film were also very impressive. The music used in emotional scenes makes the emotional burden even heavier and draws the audience into the story. There are scenes that I found exaggerated, but the shooting methods used, along with the power of the story, are enough to cover the shortcomings.

In general, the story of My Name Is Khan is one of the productions that I find important in terms of revealing the dimensions of the evolution of a person as he overflows from his inner world and has the power to shape the society after he can accept himself to the society.

Even the scenes full of love that fit in all these social messages were one of the factors of success. The presence of drama scenes based on racial and religious differences was impressive as elements that enriched the story. The big picture that emerged as a result of the combination of all the pieces was valuable enough to make the movie one of the masterpieces.

For those who love Indian cinema and want to discover the unifying elements of our cultural differences through our universal values, I recommend watching My Name Is Khan. It is not too late for us to realize that what we think separates us today is actually our richness!

This film has everything, but among so many things, it gives us a strong and clear message: we should not judge by our exterior, but by the way we are. Also, they try to include the issue of neurodivergent people, and it's fantastic.

Exactly so, instead of appearance, evaluations should be behavioral. Thank you for being here and sharing your thoughts.
