Happy Arrival Anniversary to Smudge!

This weekend, we are actually celebrating Smudge's second anniversary of coming to live with us.

Some of you might remember that Smudge came to live with us as a senior citizen kitty, when her previous Hooman mom was going to be moving to the Dominican Republic and living out in the middle of the rough nowhere, under circumstances that would not be suitable for an elderly cat.

So the Hoomans here decided that it would be a good and right thing to do to offer that Smudge could come and live out her golden years with us. She arrived here two years ago, the weekend before Thanksgiving!

We are happy to report that she has done very well here, and that coming to live in new surroundings even at her fairly senior age — she's 16 — has not been too traumatic for her and she has become a regular part of the household.

Being groomed by the Mom-Hooman! No, she's not grumpy... the was purring loudly and drooling!

She has her places in the house that she prefers to be, likely because her eyesight is not the best.

When she first arrived we kept her contained in our large upstairs living room and all this time later it remains her preferred spot... perhaps because it was what she was most familiar with when she got here, and it feels safe.

So a very happy anniversary to Smudge! We're glad you're here!

Crypto Climb?

In other news, I have been pleased with how "sturdy" our Hive token has seemed to be in the crypto markets for the past few weeks. Instead of the usual sharp rise... only to lose all the value again, our native token has held on fairly consistently in the $0.36 to $0.38 range, and that feels like a good thing!

It's not exactly enough that we can start calling it a "new bull run," or a "Santa Claus rally" yet. But I'll take whatever we can get at this point!

Meanwhile, I have more or less resigned myself to the fact that it is very unlikely I will make my Hive goals for 2023, but there is always 2024 and maybe next year I can reel in some of what was lost this year!

We're having a rather quiet weekend around here, except for the Hoomans starting to get the house ready for the holidays. That means the dreaded vacuum cleaner is bound to come out, at any moment!

Happy Thanksgiving! (Early)

Of course next week is Thanksgiving which means we're going to have a house full but sadly the Daughter-Hooman and the Son-Hooman are not going to make it over from Seattle this year because they have other arrangements. However we have other friends of the Hoomans who are going to be here.

I know the Mom-Hooman is a bid sad, but I do my best to comfort her by laying down in the middle of whatever she's doing and purring!

Otherwise, the Hoomans are busy working on their creative projects, which is something I can also get in the middle of! I'm especially fond of the Mom-Hooman's little miniature furniture, on which I can find little corners to chew on and bits of string and ribbon to run away with!

I just don't understand why she doesn't appreciate my contribution more!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
