Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities! I hope this Saturday — known to some of us as CATURDAY — is treating you well!

The cats around here are enjoying another warm summer day; we have all the windows open and a soft breeze flows through the house, making it so that it is not unbearably hot in here!

Not that we cats generally mind a little warmth. In this part of the world, though, houses generally do not have air conditioning, and this house is no exception.

Smudge truly likes the sun, and finds sunny spots even when it gets toasty inside.

Having Patience and Building Your Hive Stake

In other news, I am slowly approaching the point of being "half a Dolphin," here on Hive!

The more we work at this, the more I realize that the single best "asset" or "skill" you can have around here is a lot of patience and the ability to stick with it, even when things don't seem to be going anywhere.

Having been part of this community for somewhat more than four years now, I have watched a lot of people just "disappear," even some who were doing much better than I.

Then they'd suddenly show up again, a year or more later... by which point I would actually find myself ahead of them, kind of proving the point about patience.

I never had any illusions that a Cat Blog was going to become a "big seller" around here, but steadily keeping with it since the beginning — I'm also approaching 500 top level posts — has actually worked out pretty well, and the plan is that we're just going to keep going, pretty much indefinitely.

I am now about 6 1/2 years old, so I still have many good years of cat photos and feline opinions and commentary ahead of me!

Debut of Threads... Cool for Some!

I suppose the biggest news of the moment is the launch of "Threads" via the LeoFinance platform.

I know lots of people in our community have been asking for some kind of "short form" posting app on the Hive blockchain, and now we have one.

Short form isn't necessarily my gig, but I do believe it's a valuable addition to our overall ecosystem, so I hope it gains widespread acceptance.

Short Lived Hive Pump

Whereas it was definitely exciting to see our Hive token reach almost 90 cents earlier this week, it turns out to be short-lived joy... as often is the case.

The good news — so far, anyway — is that whereas most of the gain has been given back, we are looking like the newly found "stable point" is higher than it was before the most recent spike.

That's generally what I like to look at... sudden 70% climbs are typically unsustainable.

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communties!

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Remember, you can also "cross-post" your cat posts to them!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and typically has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
