My entry to the #Monomad challenge: “Timely Backlighting”

No matter where I am or what I'm up to, I always try to make the most of it by taking photos that I will present for my entry to the #monomad photo challenge. It's a good way for me to practice my photography skills and to apply the techniques that I learn from the awesome photographers of the Black and White Community.

Recently, I saw @jlinaresp's entry featuring the "cat up, cat down" photo, which I think is clever, creative, and perfectly timed. I think he did a great job in ensuring he captured the cat right when he got the opportunity. It only shows his experience in taking photos because it's the kind of shot that one can't simply replicate unless luck 🍀 is on their side.
The technique can be applied in situations where a human is the main subject. You can either get a model to perform the act, or in my case, I wait for an unsuspecting person to pass by the background that I've chosen. So, while I was in the airport, I found a spot where there is a nice backlit background that suits the photo I planned to shoot.

Another technique that I tried to implement is a panning shot, but I failed miserably, lol. The technique is supposed to result in the subject being clear while the rest is blurred. However, the result is the opposite. Somehow, I still find it interesting. Here are the results.

And of course, one of my favorite shots to take is to show the perspective of a scene. I usually do the 1-point perspective where I stand at a point where the lines of the image converge to a single point.

Photography is a journey of continuous learning and experimentation. Each attempt, whether successful or not, contributes to our growth as photographers and artists. I look forward to further honing my skills and sharing more of my photographic adventures with the community.
