Day 5 of #Zingtober 2024: "Zingu Through the Binoculars!"

For those of you reading my post who haven't checked out the Holozing community yet, I suggest you take a peek. There's a great buzz going on in the community with #Zingtober, Holozing's version of #Inktober. Many talented artists are participating, and it's definitely worth your time to check out their entries. I already have some favorites who are incredibly skilled at what they do.

I'm also participating and have really enjoyed creating my entries so far—no burnout yet, lol! Some prompts are pretty straightforward, while others are a bit tricky. The tricky ones tend to give me a headache, which is why I sometimes procrastinate. But I'm just glad I've been able to come up with something to present each day. Anyway, let me show you my new entry for today.

It's day 5 of #Zingtober, and today's prompt is "binoculars"!

You may have noticed in my previous entries that I tend to focus attention on the subject or prompt. I'm doing the same with this one. The binoculars take center stage, and I've added elements related to Holozing as supporting details for the main subject. This time, I chose to feature Zingru, the ice-type Holomon. While he's not directly in the frame, I placed him in the reflection of the binoculars, lol.

Let me show you my creation process.

As with all my artwork, I always start with a rough sketch to get a sense of the overall look and proportions of each element. Then, I add another layer to finalize the lines.

Then the shading begins! I used several shades of gray to achieve the depth I wanted for the subject. I used to work with a single black tone, but for this level of detail, I felt I needed more than one.

As a finishing touch to the binoculars, I added a simple layer of gloss to the lenses to give them some interesting detail. And that's it—here's the final result!

In conclusion, this piece challenged me to explore new techniques and add extra depth to my work. I enjoyed bringing the binoculars to life with shading and small details, like the gloss on the lenses and the reflection of Zingu. I'm excited to continue sharing my #Zingtober journey and look forward to tackling the upcoming prompts!
