"Barashkukor" // My entry to the Splinterlands art contest (311)

At last, I’ve completed my artwork for the Splinterlands community! Today's inspiration comes from Barashkukor.

Barashkukor is a legendary magic monster from the Death Splinter in Splinterlands, costing 13 mana and dealing 5 magic damage. Though powerful in attack, its low health and vulnerability to Fury make it challenging to keep alive in battle. It has three abilities—Fury, Weaken, and a minor armor defense—making it effective in high-mana matches where it can swiftly take down weaker enemies.

I think the design of this character or monster is quite unique yet familiar at the same time. It feels like it was inspired by one of the characters from Pirates of the Caribbean... the octopus guy (lol, I can't even remember his name, though I've watched it several times). Although the Splinterlands character looks badass, I still made some modifications to the design, letting my imagination run wild while working on this artwork.

I kept most of the character’s features, so there's still a strong resemblance. Here's the Splinterlands artwork I used as the basis.

The process of creating my artwork is quite straightforward. It follows the same procedure I always use when working on my pieces. Although it's not perfect, I’m continually trying to improve the speed, consistency, and overall aesthetics of my work.

I always start with a rough sketch, followed by outlining the drawing.

Once the outlines are complete, I move straight into adding colors. It’s helpful to have a reference image, so I don’t have to spend too much time deciding on the color scheme and overall tone of the character.

From there, I usually focus on the details, like adding highlights, shading, and minor touches to enhance the artwork.
