A Walk Through Singapore's Iconic Landmarks: OUE Bayfront, Fullerton Hotel, Clifford Pier, and Marina Bay
I don't usually go for a walk on Mondays, but since I wasn’t able to do it yesterday, I decided to make it happen tonight. It felt like a good decision, as Mondays at work are often mentally exhausting, and physical activities like walking; especially with some photography, are a great way to unwind.
That was the plan I had in mind during lunch, although I still didn’t know exactly where I’d go until I logged off work. The first place that came to mind was OUE Bayfront. I know this area has a nice, modern vibe, though I don’t visit often, as it feels somewhat formal and is home to many corporate offices. Still, it’s a beautiful spot, so it’s definitely worth a visit.
I arrived at the location a bit later than planned, even though I had rushed to get there. I was aiming to catch the "blue hour" for ideal lighting in my photography. While I did make it in time, I didn't have quite enough time to plan my shots. As a result, I simply walked quickly and captured photos as fast as I could before losing the beautiful blue sky.
What really impresses me about this place is the lively activity of the people around. Some are walking to the bus stops after work, while many are jogging—likely office workers enjoying exercise with their colleagues.
As an architecture lover, I was thrilled to see the modern buildings and skyscrapers in this area. The vibrant city lights and the stylish establishments create an exciting atmosphere.
OUE Tower
The tower is part of the OUE development estate, and this particular building houses fine dining restaurants while offering an expansive view of Raffles Quay, especially the Marina Bay area.
OUE Bayfront Office Building
Right next to the tower is the OUE Bayfront building, which consists of 18 floors of premium office spaces. That’s cool, but it doesn’t really interest me, lol. What truly caught my attention were the sculptures displayed in the building’s open void deck.
From there, I continued exploring the surroundings of the Fullerton Bay Hotel, looking for interesting spots for photography.
There’s nothing particularly special about the building itself, but the view is something you’ll appreciate if you ever check into this hotel. Not to mention its location, which offers close proximity to Marina Bay and the surrounding establishments.
Clifford Pier
The next building I explored was Clifford Pier, one of the historical landmarks in the area. Back in the day, when Marina Bay was used as a port, this pier served the needs of the port.
It was designed in a Neo-Classical architectural style, and its most prominent features are the curving roof and the impressive roof trusses.
Let me tell you something cool about this area: I thought I saw a robot cleaner cleaning the walkway, but it turned out to be a robot police officer! It’s awesome! Every minute, it announces its presence, stating that it's on patrol to check the surroundings.
The surroundings of the pier are beautiful, with plenty of great spots for photography. It offers an amazing view of Marina Bay and is also one of the docking points for the Singapore Cruise, a boat tour along the Singapore River.
I was having a great time exploring this area, not only because of the views but also because of the creative installations strategically placed along the boardwalk. Here are a few things that made me stop and take a closer look.
The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
As soon as I finished exploring OUE Bayfront, I decided to visit my next spot for the evening: The Fullerton Hotel!
I had difficulty finding the access at first, but then I discovered an underpass that led me to the hotel. It was cool to have a route that passed underneath the road to get to the building. Once I entered the underpass, it was a straight walk followed by a turn until I reached the entrance of the building.
It’s one of the most luxurious hotels in the city, and I was curious to see its interior.
Driven by curiosity, I went inside the hotel since there were no security guards or staff at the front door. I took the risk, and it was worth it. The interior is grand, and I was especially fascinated by the large courtyard.
As soon as I was satisfied with taking photos inside, and before being noticed by the staff, I decided to head outside to capture more shots of the exterior. I really made the most of my trip today by documenting every part of my exploration.
Exploring these incredible spots has been a memorable experience, offering a perfect blend of stunning views, fascinating architecture, and hidden gems. Every corner of this city holds something worth discovering, and I’m excited to continue uncovering more. Until the next adventure, I’ll keep capturing these moments through my lens!

added to my bucket list!😍
Among the countries you mentioned in your intro post, Singapore is the closest and doesn't require a visa for you to visit. The Philippines and Singapore are both part of ASEAN, so you're very welcome here 😊.
If you stay active on this platform, your earnings might finance your travels to other countries someday. Keep it up 👍
