(Ranting alert) Will Hive be worthy in the long run?

You have been warned. It’s just me ranting.

I have not been writing long form post for a long while. The reasons are aplenty. Busyness in my day job would be the main reason. But the lack of ideas to write things financial in this dull and bearish time is another. Depressing is the word if you see the chart below.

Honestly, I don’t have time to read posts by others these days. I don’t follow what’s the latest on Hive. To me, Hive is like a distant planet, and I have some wealth vested into it. Not as enthusiastic as I used to be.

Sometimes I think the change of the look and feel of the Leo Finance site to thread focused INLEO is the reason why I find that things are less familiar and alluring on Hive now. Just sometimes. I still support INLEO and have some 50k of LEO staked.

I also lament inside about the lack of upvotes, of course.

… relative to what I continue to see what others are getting, hurts.

Worse, there are bullies on Hive who downvotes for whatever righteous reasons they conjure. They make the Hive experience bad. Though they may intentions to make Hive better.

So will Hive be worthy in the long run? Just asking so that I can somehow make it a somewhat financial post worthy of Leo Finance. You can tell I still live in the good old days without INLEO.

A few days ago I saw the number of active users on Leo Finance to be less than 20k. I thought that is crazily little. Compared to the number of people who are holding their mobile phones right now. They should be on it!

So from that perspective, there is a potential for Leo Finance, and by the same logic Hive. The upside is huge even if there is just a doubling of active users every few years. This could send the demand of Hive through the roof.

Of course that is provided people are interested in writing things. Because if they aren’t, then there’s nothing to upvote and nothing to excite people.

But it is probably a good time to acknowledge that Hive should position itself as a place for ranting more than anything. Not a place for making pretty posts. Because most people can’t.

Also no one should expect readers to read in the traditional sense, because it’s just a waste of time to do so. No matter how good thing are.

Speaking of time. Let me end this, lest my ranting wasted too much of your time, and mine.

My conclusion is: Hive will be worthy in the long run if we have more users who just come and post whatever they wish anonymously, ranting in whatever form without concern.

Like of like a dance floor where people dance for the sake of dancing.

The monetization bit shouldn’t be in one’s mind.

Then there is hope for Hive to be worthy.

In this sense, then the way INLEO thread is built for, which is for ranting is aligned in making Hive more worthy in the future.

Make Hive the niche platform to let people simply rant!

We can actually do our part in publication in whatever way and part we can.

Cheers

I agree with you. Hive won't succeed with a small group of well-paid writers. Hive is games, InLeo and something new. Something for the mass client.

I actually believe it is just a matter of time. Hive will definitely bounce back

I do think Hive will be there in the future and it will succeed. As usual, we need more numbers. The applications will need to do their job of attracting people. Just blogging isn't enough to attract people.

In my opinion, there are currently only two shining flagships that could and should attract more new users: Inleo & Splinterlands. These are enough to keep Hive going but to stay ahead of the game, we'll need more in the future.

In my view, the future looks bright for Hive. I think it'll expand beyond just blogging, threads is a good direction towards that.

We have to remember that we are in a bull market now and we never know when the market will start to go up, so all the strong projects like this will have their coins go up a lot.

Your honest analysis on Hive reflects the struggle and transformation. The notion of marketing Hive as a room for unbridled ranting is an interesting prospect—one looking at the reality of true expression rather than traditional norms. Your optimism about the potential of this platform sounds in tune with my consideration that mobile users are getting bigger. Feel free to share your ideas; they make the discussion lively.

thanks for reading and offering the advice. I am accessing INLEO from the mobile app now, and see that it’s quite inviting compared to previous.

Will post more from there!
