Keeping tab of profit and loss regularly, and still keeping calm

Ever since a few months ago, I started a habit of keeping tab of my profit and loss in crypto. Start of the month is a good time to do this.

I will cut to the chase.

I lost about 2675 HBD in value out of my close to 50K of Hive and Hive power as Hive tumbled from 0.36 last month to 0.30 presently.

Of course, I am not dumping. I stay cool.

When Hive goes back up to 0.42, I will make the additional 2675 HBD in profit. I am waiting for that.

Ok, enough of the situational update.

Let me go back to my point that keeping a monthly tab of things is essential if one wants to build wealth. It could be different interval, but some kind of regular check is important.

I do it over an Excel sheet that looks something like this:

Of course, I have record of my other assets, including those outside crypto. My real estate, stocks, savings , bonds, etc..

In fact, this record keeping of the entire assets I hold is what keeps me calm even though there is a dip in Hive prices. The crux is that I know I have enough of low or no risk assets to make my investment paper loss looks small.

It helps that I have income coming in.

To me, the overall game is to beat inflation while saving up for retirement. Having this big picture view by keeping tab of profit and loss keeps me calm. And allows me to make clear-minded decisions to navigate the path ahead.

Including scooping up more Hive at this price!
