Just how big can the Hive universe extend? Infinity.
I think Michael Salyor once said that Bitcoin could suck in all the wealth over time as it is mathematically designed to do so.
I don't want to dispute that. I don't care.
I am, however, keener to know just how big can the Hive universe extends.
By extend, I mean Hive gains new users, new topics, and new tribes over time. The potential in this regard is unlimited, barring technical limitations of Hive that I am unaware of.
A look at the tribes available in Hive gives a hint that it is getting quirkier by the day. Just look at the following communities:

In theory, there is no limit to the number of tribes that can be formed in Hive. We can expect more current users to want to start something close to their heart, and with that other users interested in the topic could join in. They in turn tell their friends with similar interests.
Even by starting a Hive tribe for every nation on Planet Earth would create a mind blogging number of new tribes. Imagine we do that in terms of cities, or town. Or schools, professions, or types of sports. Multiply that by dedicated tribes for users in each language for these many interests, and we might need to get some help from the caterpillar species to keep the tally accurate. Take for instance, the current location/language-based tribes are predominantly filled with a variety of topics. Someday, they are going to say, let's have a Chinese crypto talk tribe, Polish beer tribe, or Spanish La Siesta tribe. The diversity we see in Reddit and YouTube is an indication of the things to come in Hive.
What can each of us do to nurture that diversity that would resemble utopia?
I think each of us can try to be the diversity ourselves.
- Join a new tribe, and post in it regularly.
- Create a new tribe, and lead it.
- Spread our votes to the posts in these small tribes to encourage them.
Just how big can the Hive universe extend? It depends on us.
Hive, too, is mathematically designed to extend its reach to infinity.

I agree with you, Hive's applications are many and its extension can be infinite, it's designed to allow it so why shouldn't it happen, right?

Thanks so much, @cryptothesis for opening our eyes to things we don't know or things we should take care of. Your post made us think about what is a hive without pollen and what is the world 1%, 50% above on the pyramid and 50% below or underground mafias politically and religiously answering, claiming and saying it's fine drones can do the job.
Nice analogy re hive without pollen. I love it.

Infinity and beyond! We could break limits with Hive and the diversity will be something that's very colorful.
Infinity and more, have can become the jewel of content creation with all its diversity. For sure the infrastructure is there and we still to keep it evolving, but the path is clear and steady.

I don't think we need to go to different communities and you can do a decent amount of job helping promote a few communities. Also, even games can help hive by increasing the number of transactions and users. It isn't all about blogging.

Create a tribe for reviewing live music venues in your local city or group of cities. Gives you an excuse to go out and enjoy the music then write here on blog in said community for a small payment.
Be sure to include contact information for musicians to arrange to play at these places and you have another ready made list of viewers/subscribers.
OMG! my brain just exploded, find local video and sound folks to offer to record these live shows for the musicians. List them on Hivelist.store for sale in digital format. Split the tokens earned and help the musicians join Hive if they aren't already here.

I like your call to action and your positivism. You could call me negative, but for Hive to grow and be accessed by the big public we need 1) less technical barriers and Hive to be easier to manage 2) (automatically coming with nr1) a better return on (time) investment and/OR explaining people that the bigger benefits of Hive are not in blogging and voting, especially for the people that are just joining now.
