Could Hive bring about world peace?

I know secretly you are thinking of the other balloon shot down by Biden when you read world peace and saw the picture below.

No, forcing you to agree with me is not how Hive brings world peace.

I am rather thinking about how a widespread blurring of national identities worldwide would make the world more peaceful.

As we know, Hive as a decentralized blogging platform can be thought of as a universe where people from different interests and locations can come together to interact. As we spend more time on it discussing topics of our interest by clicking through our mobile devices at will on the Hive platforms, our need to identify with our home country can potentially weaken. Couple that with the fact that (if) it brings us financial gains, we may see its importance greater than being a citizen of our own physical nation at some stage.

I am sure it's happening to some of us. We pay more attention to happenings on Hive than we do to actual real-life happenings in our country. Maybe it's because there is a lot more happening on Hive that we can directly interact with than with news in the real world. My interaction with news in the real world won't gain me cryptocurrency, at least, but my poking around in Hive will.

Over time, when this reaches a critical mass and Hive reaches mass adoption. That is, eyeballs are on Hive contents rather than on what's happening to our own nation, there is a chance that propaganda wars between nations will lose their momentum. You see, these wars are actually dependent on the reactions of citizens in respective nations. When citizens no longer read the traditional daily news or watch the TV news, then things could be very different! People could become even less interested in fighting.

Could Hive bring about world peace? I believe so, especially if it can continue to bring value to its users such that the exchange of ideas and understanding between people of different nations is maximized.

We could be seeing a very different world when Hive absolutely scales.

This is spot on. Things are primarily dependent on how we react and it could also be argued that we are the battlefield of every war (in a theoretical sense i.e mind control). Tbh, my mind wasn't on the shot balloon, it was on the Ukraine war ;)

While I would prefer that result, I don't think it will. There are always going to be people who pursue their own benefits and I doubt that the people in charge want that at all.

Well world peace.... I don't know 😂 there will always be people eith different views and opinions and religions.... I think it might create for a more stable environment though... It can certainly give the homeless guy a chance to make a buck or two...

But I think we might be in for a wildride with everything politically related....

Hive is strong and trusted platform. Because of this platform people have got opportunity to start their own talent and if someone creates agent then people come and support him a lot here. The biggest advantage of this is that if we work on it, somewhere we can afford our own expenses if we are students. Students should also spend their own expenses by using such things and should not become a burden on their parents.

I'm not so sure that Hive would bring world peace, but being a platform for "decentralized", read: "unsensored" news would be good. Why do I write "would"? Well because, there will be always hidden agendas, even on a decentralised platform and people trying to tell us that there are certain "rules" just because they like to see it this or that way. I'm thinking at the stigmatisation of Actifit posts, and like @methodofmad explained that he feels obliged to limit his payout on DBuzz because he'd be downvoted. I think the downvoting system is not correct here and even goes against the whole idea of what Hive stands for. Correct me if I'm wrong. !PIZZA

Yeah, this downvoting mechanism can be a bummer. But this is how community works. Existing community doesn’t like newcomers that don’t align.

But the good thing is that we can always form new ones, although that can take time. !PIZZA

About forming new communities, I think you're doing a great job, and I'm trying to follow your example, plus I keep on trying to get people into making automated votes, apart from their manual curation of course.... But I think it'll bring quite some to the small accounts and to me when they do it. A lot of smaller accounts seem to loose interest, and don't come back for some time or for a longer time even... If all that time they would be autovoting my posts, they gather curation rewards and I'm getting the (auto)votes, no matter the small they are. And above all: They would be growing their account while being absent.... !PIZZA

Keep working on promoting automatic voting. I think everyone deserves to know it exist. But equally important to highlight the dust vote issue so people don’t lose their vote values unnecessarily.
