My Handball Career 2024/2025 #3: Resume

Two weeks have passed since my last post about my season.

This happened due to the fact that last weekend we did not compete, as the game was postponed by mutual agreement as Sismaria's coach became a father on Friday.

We didn't have to accept postponing the game, but there are more important things in life than a game, like the birth of a child.

This week we had a game for the Portuguese Cup against Povoa AC who are in 9th place in the first division, that is, our opponent is 2 divisions above us.

However, we believed we had the team to discuss the game and even accomplish the feat of eliminating a first division team.

At halftime, we were up 13-11.
We did very well defensively, but in attack we made some mistakes, but we still managed to fulfill a large part of the plan we defined.

In the second half, it was noticed that we lacked a little experience.
However, the game would be marked by a play in the last 3 seconds where we had a player on the counterattack ready to shoot and an opponent crossed half the area to make a foul, which should have resulted in a free kick from 7 meters and a red card for the player.
The referees called a normal foul, which sent the game into extra time.

In extra time it was noted that the teams were very nervous and in the first half there was only 1 goal scored.

In the end, we ended up losing by the minimum difference of 1 goal, which caused us to be eliminated from the competition.

Even though we lost, we ended up showing everyone that our team has the value to be in higher divisions and that we are clearly the favorites to move up the division.
