Changings to the Voting Service to prevent scam/abuse. But there is one small side effect... Sorry if it should affect you...

I have adapted the mechanism of the CryptoCompany Voting Service. Just a small change, but I wanted to share it anyway. I'll keep it short: It is no longer possible to enter the link manually in the text input field. This is now only possible via the article selection above the text input field.

Why the change?

There are several reasons why I had to make this change. There have been a number of incidents with the voting service that I would classify as somewhere between abuse and fraud. As a result, I had to make a few technical changes aimed at ensuring that only legitimate articles can be voted on. Some of the measures also affect the text input field, which no longer allows manual input. Don't worry: further checks have been installed in the background; simply editing the text input field would be amateurish...

As part of the changes, I also had to remove the option to offer articles that you have reblogged on your blog in the voter.

For 99% of users nothing will change, but unfortunately...

... it is no longer possible to gift votes to other users/accounts. Only a very small proportion of users did this anyway - but it is regrettable. If you are affected by this, then I am truly sorry. However, I had to take this measure in order not to jeopardize the legitimacy of the voter. Ultimately for the benefit of all legit users.

If you have given away votes in the past, you still can give away CCD, which the person can then use in the voter - this is of course possible.
