Assuming commitments that are outside our work environment is counterproductive, since they are actions in which we can get to default, although participating in community projects is important it is also true that we must be aware of our commitments before committing ourselves because those forces us to organize ourselves to meet other activities outside of work.
Let's remember that a commitment refers to the agreement that you make and that can be used for all areas of life, for example to develop a project that benefits the members of the community where you live, hence there are commitments in the community that we must assume with responsibility.
It is not that you want to assume commitments because it will benefit you professionally, since we must also assume commitments that benefit the spaces we use within our community.
